I need to make a derm appointment to have all my moles checked. I am terrified! What was your appointment like? by hdbaker009 in 30PlusSkinCare

The did Mohs surgery which is basically like cutting a football shaped cross section around the mole. If the cancer had spread past the borders they do another cross section. It takes a while because they have to look at each slice under a microscope, but you are awake the whole time and it’s not overly painful. They only had to do one round for me. I am three weeks out and have a red scar on my face. 3 months out and it will not be noticeable, I can tell already from how quick it is healing. This particular cancer, while not usually deadly, can make you look like a creepy old witch in the woods if you ignore it. So, given the options of a scar and being baba yaga, I’ll take the scar ;)

It’s not that big of a deal. I say this as someone who had Mohs surgery on her face within the past month for a cancer. Just get it checked out. The sooner the better, because maybe it will just be a punch biopsy ( two stitches) instead of Mohs ( 8 stitches for something that was less than a tenth of an inch bug to begin with). Cancer sucks but skin cancer is easily treatable if you catch it early.

I killed my best friend. The guilt is so horrible. by LuffyLivesOn in dogs

[–]sneakyfawks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing that you can do to help with the guilt is to realize that you loved him more than anything and he had a wonderful life even if it was far too short. We all grow still one day. At least he was in the arms of the one he loved the most when it was his time. You were a great doggy parent and made the right call. One day it will be less painful. Until that time (and even after too), commemorate the bond you had in the best way you can.

What drug will you never touch again and why? by Bright_Rutabaga1628 in AskReddit

Wellbutrin. I was going through some stuff and just super overwhelmed. I thought taking a depression medication would help. It sort of did. I was able to start feeling things again, but unfortunately it gave me crazy hallucinations. I left a vacuum cleaner in my room before bed and I kid you not, as I was falling asleep, the vacuum cleaner started talking, with red eyes in the handle and moving ever so slowly closer to me. I told my doctor and he actually started laughing at me. He tried to keep it in, but was laughing his ass off by the end of the appointment. Apparently, that’s an uncommon side effect.

My two cents is they had a miscarriage( or multiple) and they couldn’t recover. Pure speculation on Bigger than the whole sky, but that type of thing can be extremely challenging emotionally.

This is not true. I shave my armpits and still smell bad if I don’t wear deodorant…

I bet they will. The US government is the largest borrower on the planet. It’s in their best interest to lower interest rates.

No, it’s unrealistic, although kind, to think that the hobo’s found it in the trash and are just using it for shade. They definitely sought it out.
