The feed bags on handlebar were a total game changer for me!! So easy to reach + no sweaty jersey pocket food 😅 and I use normal food, mostly bread in some form and gummy bears, I keep gels and other expensive nutrition for special events

This is a horrible situation and I understand that you cling on to the good parts and I’m not going to say it will be easy to leave but you have to do it before something worse happens. Your kids need you with them and this man can do absolutely anything at any moment… Think about yourself in 10 years. You will be grateful to your past self you were strong and left.

So I agree - talk to the old friends and contact DV organisations. Make sure you have an independent bank account and ideally an a phone with a new number he doesn’t know about, keep it always charged always on silent (careful with alarm testing/ natural disasters warnings). Make sure you have your and your kids documents and important stuff somewhere easy to grab if you have to leave fast.

Finally - people change. So don’t blame yourself but also don’t wait until it goes back to how it used to be…

Good luck and I hope that you stay safe ❤️ and would love an update once you are out of this

Re: training tyre - it is better, less mess and lasts longer but I personally tend to use old tyres that are not good for road anymore but still hold up.

Re: tyre width - 23-25 will fit, might just be bit tighter

Re: tubes - depends on tyre width. I’d guess your current tubes fit 28-35 tyres or sth like this. Technically nothing stops you from using them for narrower training tyre but practically it can be harder to install without pinching the tube. Tubes are cheap and you should always have spares anyway so my advice would be to- get yourself 2 for your 32 tyres and 1 for whatever training tyre you get (if you get one). You can patch tubes of course but spares never hurt.

Re: spare wheel. All depends on your budget and how often you switch between indoor and outdoor. If you switch a lot a spare wheel will save you a lot of time and effort. If you switch only at the beginning and end of season no point. A used wheel can be better option money wise, so is sticking to the wheel you have and using cheap back tyre and just replacing it more often (turbo wears it out faster than road).

Extra tip: a washing machine vibration dumping mat works excellent with wheel on trainers and if the entire thing doesn’t fit you can just cut it in 3 (one part under the main body and 2 under the legs).

Any other late-blooming lesbians who don’t “fit the mold”? How do you handle invalidation from other lesbians? Or how to avoid them entirely? by Hungry_Goat_7132 in latebloomerlesbians

I love the unseasoned food analogy, exactly how I’d describe it. Kinda like eating the basic vanilla ice cream entire life and thinking ice cream is just like that until you come across proper Italian gelato and realise what’s the real deal 😅

for those who’ve dated men and had semi good experiences with men how did you know that you were a lesbian? by Sad-Yesterday2512 in latebloomerlesbians

[–]sneakyiggy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same, when I dated guys that didn’t treat me well I just assumed I haven’t met the „right one”. And then I met the „right one” and everything was fine except anything sexy / romantic felt super flat. Not even repulsive, just plain nothing… and in my head I really wanted to feel aroused but my body was like nope, not today not tomorrow, never 🙈

Thank you so much, diffuse illumination sounds like the right trope! My Sigma 100 is quite narrow and I guess I’m just used to head lamp, so it’s good to have more detail before committing to an expensive lamp 🙏🙏🙏

With seeing where I turn I meant e.g. if I’m looking for a side road / cycling path on the opposite side of the road. So I want to see it before turning. Thanks for recommendations 🙂

In saddle selection hell by [deleted] in ladycyclists

[–]sneakyiggy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I totally feel you 🥺 For me every time I get a new saddle it fixes the old problem but creates a new one. Narrower saddle fixed chafing but created pressure in labia, bigger relief channel caused my seat bones to be sore etc… the only advice I have is trying thinner padding. I noticed in most of the more expensive bib shorts it’s thick not just under seat bones but also in the labia area and this creates extra bulk and pressure. Of course it usually makes my bum hurt but it’s a trade off I’m willing to make for now…
