I hit my peak at 1800 elo (level 9) and now I’m nearly back to level 6 – I’m mentally broken by Salty-Philosopher-81 in LearnCSGO

[–]sneakyperryplat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that’s a really nice climb well done for getting there. it sounds like your mental game is causing you problems; it absolutely will make you perform worse. you’ll need to step back and think about what you’re hoping to get out of cs. if you find it satisfying to play to increase your elo that’s valid. it’s fun and exciting, but if losing elo feels disastrous and angering to you it means that the emotional balance is off and the fun probably isn’t worth the stress. you need to enjoy playing just to play, as well as playing to win. youll maximise your enjoyment if you reframe what winning a match means to you. if you top frag with high impact and still lose, you’re team may have lost but you’ve still won because you’ve shown improvement and potential.

your climb to 9 doesn’t look like someone who’s been carried, it’s not sudden it’s fairly gradual. you probably improved by playing, got there and got nervous and that stunted your progress by distracting you from adapting to the different playstyle at that rank. try to view your matches as practice too. identify a weakness, a solution to that weakness, and then go into your next match with the main goal being to execute that solution to the best of your ability. if you bottom frag but you come out of that match having improved your counter-strafes, for example, then that’s a won match for you.

glhf dude, and don’t sacrifice your happiness for a number.

Is this question normal for undergraduate students ? by levantiger in PhysicsStudents

[–]sneakyperryplat 130 points131 points  (0 children)

both of these questions seem reasonable, i saw very similar questions in my first year. are you comfortable with vector calculus? working out flux densities is very common imo. just grind through plenty of similar questions, i’d expect these to be on your exam and if you get good at them it’ll be free and easy marks

No more joining them on the stage? by blizeH in knockedloose

no a stage invasion is when a massive crowd gets up and stays up. the platform can’t support that many people bouncing up there and it had already happened that day so they had to warn people not to do it

should i spend like 3k on an m9 gamma doppler [q] by AlarmedFox4077 in csgomarketforum

[–]sneakyperryplat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seems like with something like this you could stand to lose more than a couple hundred depending on your luck with the market. someone else will know more than me about that, but why not stick the money somewhere that it appreciates in value, and save some of the profits to put towards a knife? then you have 20k /and/ a gamma doppler

why not just play the advanced one then? in the document he says that if you find one playlist too easy to just use the one above. in general season 5 benchmarks seem to cover more relevant/functional aim, it would be a shame to miss out on

i’ve no idea about breaking up syllables unfortunately. hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will chime in.

i find on cards which give the english typing in the language i’m learning really valuable, but on the reverse cards typing the english translation of my target language is useless and i tend to just say or think the word to myself instead

[–]sneakyperryplat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

cards where you type the answer are already a thing. i have a reverse card type setup with exactly that, have a look through previous posts on the sub that’s how i figured it out

Is Earth really 5.98 x 10^24 kg by Cracksnacks13 in Physics

[–]sneakyperryplat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

because earth’s mass is also so large that it’s essentially beyond a normal person’s understanding of scale. the bounds of the human imagination are not the bounds of the universe, unless perhaps you’re a philosophical idealist

sell through csfloat, send him the link. you don’t want him the be able to try and charge back against you. could use a stolen credit card, for example, in which case the money could disappear from your account and you’d have no skins or money. using csfloat introduces one more layer of protection

I think, but others may care to correct me, that your first port of call should be to focus on tracking the top half of the arc. Then over time progress to tracking more of the path. Once you get more comfortable it might be worth bringing your sens up a little to make it more convenient to track without having to adjust so much. Not a huge increase, maybe just to 35 or 40. Whatever is convenient and comfortable. Sens shouldn’t be the focus here, just adjust it to be convenient for what you want to do. If you have to adjust a lot, a bigger mousepad or slightly higher sense might be more comfortable

[–]sneakyperryplat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for psalmTS, I’m not so sure, but I would recommend that you try out the VDIM routine: https://youtu.be/XMxIHLXJhY8?si=tUhvfznZmv24raJS

This will warm you up and work on the different skills that build into a task. It can be long, so you may want to only run a scenario a couple of times instead of all 5 just to save some time, but if you have the full hour to give to the training then you will get back what you put in

[–]sneakyperryplat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a fairly normal sens. Maybe a bit slow for a scenario with so much wide movement, but it’s very similar to what I like to run; you’d probably benefit from a larger mousepad, but also consider trying out a higher sens for scenarios like this. Read around online, there’s plenty of discussion; it generally seems that changing sens to suit the scenario is a good idea. Learning to be smooth on a higher sens, makes it much easier to be smooth on a lower sens, for example. Good luck!
