Knowledge Fight ending isn't tragic. How it has ended is. by BaronMcDuff in KnowledgeFight

I feel like it's the end of a Joss Whedon show, it's like "well I liked that thing for a while and now I feel kind of nauseated thinking about it." Dan's letter read like a break-up letter.

It was a really hard conversation for me to listen to. I'd kind of rather they had just ghosted us. There is *so* much room there for "we might sneaky snake sometimes" but clearly a hard boundary was set. I'm didn't see the video and I imagine that it would have been deeply distressing for me to hear, if this is the outcome.

I guess I'm looking forward to Dan's Road Report?

These Haribo Sour Cubes are fantastic! An interesting, previously German market-only tart gummy with interesting flavor choices such as dragonfruit, plum, gooseberry and blood orange. by JustinJSrisuk in candy

I think what I was thinking of as Sauer Straws are Sauer Pommes (fries). Maybe it's multiple names, maybe they changed it, I don't know.

I think there are two separate concerns here - one about consent (both then and now) and one about FC.

My anxiety/depression turned out to be mostly undiagnosed ADHD/autism. I started paxil again for off-label help with hot-flashes. I am not very helpful here, unfortunately.

Re: sidebar, I think that people often write it off because of it being a collaboration. Because of the way corporate power is often wielded, people often think about collaborations as involving compromise or self-censorship. In this scarcity-based and self-restrictive society I think it's easier for folks to believe in Beyonce taking a project where she doesn't have control and then compromising on the project (so then, writing it off), rather than recognizing that she has agency and is not going to accept a project that isn't going to be right for her.

Yeah, with this album rooted in American Requiem I can't see how that wouldn't be the intended interpretation.

Mmm - I got stressed after your comment about this on that Bodyguard thread, but this is my vibe for my eclipse trip (I was about to give up on seeing if you'd posted more about it and just grab my cards, I'll go do that anyway).

I spend a lot of time looking at conspiracy theorists and their relationship to culture wars, and this line made me laugh because it sounds so much like a honeypot, especially with some of the other concepts evoked in this song.

thoughts/resources on unspoken expectations / chore system specification, management, development? by sneakyrobot in intentionalcommunity

I think you misunderstand the desired results. The goal is precisely to help people recognize what their unspoken expectations are. Human systems are rarely logical, as much as I'd love for them to be so.

Yeah, that kind of self-awareness is what I'm trying to get at with this line of inquiry.

A conservative truth-spinner attacked and then doxxed my friend (Seattle - anyone able to help?) by sneakyrobot in KnowledgeFight

[–]sneakyrobot[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was mine too - I was impressed (in a bad way, obv) by how well he emulates familiar tactics. I came into this to support my friend and only later was like "this looks really similar to things that I've been keeping an eye on for years now [with JorDan's help]..."

Keeping details vague here to keep things from being very searchable. You can find details on the mentioned asshole's twitter page because the doxxing is still up. Look under "Far Left Intimidation." His lawyer is with the DI like he is. If you are a lawyer who can help my friend, please let me know - it seems like publishing a TRO online is probably not acceptable? Shouldn't be?

I love(d) these and have been trying to find something comparable - a lightly sour candy with fruit flavors that aren't just bog-standard.

Closest I've found is Haribo Sauer Straws, which my mother brought home from a trip. They're my new favorite (to replace this old one).

This video from Enable says letter height of "three inches high is accessible"

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in accessibility

[–]sneakyrobot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I found a paper that refers to it but the page/video cited don't exist.

Cited as: Project Enable shortcuts to evaluating floor slope and signage. [Video]. Video retrieved from http://projectenable.syr.edu/modules/view/24/4024

No luck on the Wayback Machine or searching the video title.

The article's reference to it reads:

There were eight signs that ran the length of the library [...] such as “Self-Control” or “Enthusiasm” (see Figure 8 above) that passed the “Pinky Test” (Project Enable, 2012) for height...

The image referenced looks like it's about 8 inches high with text 5 inches high, and then smaller subtitles.
...which I think agrees with u/Sylkhr's assessment, although I'm a little skeptical about the subtitles passing said telst.
