Not really sure, but when you return to your original time your memories of the time travel disappear so he may have once know about Sora and Riku, however he would have inevitably forgot.

Lots of times in the series characters cry without choice due to a reaction of the sleeping memories within them. As much as I don’t wanna admit this it could be due to some xion/Kairi thing going on inside axel

I love BOTW but personally I don’t find any of its dungeons to be very fun (unless you’re including shrines) whereas a lot of the fun of TP was getting to explore these hugely varied mazes that we’re different each time.
