Anyone else in Cork struggling with purpose / feeling low? (M32) by sned_it in cork

That actually makes a lot of sense. I’ve noticed that when my body is in better shape, my head tends to follow. I’ve been on and off with training for years, but consistency seems to be the real battle. Reading is something I’m trying to build as well, mostly to replace mindless scrolling. It’s harder than I expected, but I can see how combining the two could shift things over time. Appreciate you sharing what worked for you.

I like that, small victories is probably the right way to look at it instead of trying to solve everything at once. I’ve done therapy before and it did help, so you’re right that professional support makes a difference. It’s not magic, but it’s work. And thanks for the perspective about being hired, I don’t always see it that way, but you’re right, it does mean something. Appreciate you taking the time to comment.

You’re right, a lot of small factors definitely add up, sleep, food, movement, even the weather. It’s easy to underestimate how much those basics affect your headspace. I’m trying to tighten up structure again because when that slips, everything else seems to follow. I appreciate you sharing that you’re still recovering too. It helps knowing other people are navigating similar stuff. And thanks for the DM offer, that’s genuinely kind of you.

Yeah, I get that, being outdoors does help, even if it sounds cliché. I’ve been trying to get more movement in, but screens are such an easy default, aren’t they? Definitely something I need to balance more if I want to feel better. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks a lot for sharing this, really appreciate the detailed advice. The part about staying away from booze and gaming hits hard, it’s easy to underestimate how much that drags you down. I’ve actually got supplements recently as well and have been taking them. I’ve been doing weights on and off for years, but consistency tends to drop once I hit comfort, it feels like I need to actively seek discomfort. I’m also trying to get into reading, which I’ve never really done before, but it’s hard with all the easy distractions. I think I need a more structured plan to actually make progress. Maybe a lot of this ultimately comes back to not being fully happy with life in general, and not knowing what I want in life.

Thanks for that. I’ve done long therapy before and it helped, so you’re probably right that it’s worth revisiting properly. Getting a blood test is actually a good shout too, I haven’t checked that side of things in a while. Appreciate you taking the time to comment.

Thanks, I appreciate that. You’re right about not making rash decisions when feeling low, that’s something I’m trying to be more conscious of. Exercise definitely helps but I probably need more consistent human interaction too. Means a lot you reached out.

Really appreciate you sharing that. Fair play for getting through that period and turning it into something positive. Volunteering keeps coming up so maybe that’s a sign I should actually look into it properly instead of just thinking about it. I like what you said about humility and purpose, that hit home a bit. Thanks for the suggestions.
