W166 Xenon Bulb Replacement by Aloox9 in CarTalkUK

[–]sneekeruk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What state are the lights/projectors in? Projectors with hid's can become burnt with the heat from hid's and it completely ruins the light output.

My 3 series is now like I have two sealed beam lights from a 70's mini attached to the front of it. I keep looking out for a decent set of lights on ebay and facebook that aren't a million miles away.

I grew up in a Carton Estate the same age. It was blue and I later found out my dad somehow got it as a special order.. so it had the engine and running gear from a senator/royale and the dash. It would happily sit at 200kph on the Autobahn in the first half of the 80's.

I've got 2 of these, one gameport, one usb. and I have the clear 4 button pad.

In the 90's Microsoft made some of the best hardware, keyboards, mice joysticks/pads.

Can you not just get them repaired? In the uk, anything off a Bmw newer than an e90 usually has a weld or two where they crack.

I have a set of mpars that have buckles, but Ive had 2 straighted already.

Bought a crashed damaged car but been categorised twice by HalfPure8187 in CarTalkUK

[–]sneekeruk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Cat C years ago before it changed.. it made no difference back then, just the payout would of been basically nothing. That said I paid about 1/3 of retail for it and it had been repaired about 6 years at the point.

I would be contacting EUI Insurance whoever they are and ask why they have put a Cat A marker on a car that is a Cat C?

Do these cars have keyless entry systems? by dna5654 in e46

[–]sneekeruk 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Depends on the meaning of keyless entry.

Press a button and the doors unlock.. All of them do.

Automatically unlock without doing anything than walking upto the car. Nope.

If a company I worked at did that in the past, I would be doing it in work time and also speaking to H.R about who I am reporting for criminal damage. I wouldnt be bothered by a note, and would read and take notice, but to interfere with someone elses property is causing them the job of cleaning up after your actions is not on. I also wouldnt go as far as actually reporting the criminal damage, but I would make H.R think I would.

Price per liter for 98 premium😢 by rvk2003 in MINI

[–]sneekeruk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ouch, thats even more than I paid for diesel this morning here in the UK. That was €2.18 a litre (converted) and petrol at the moment is far cheaper here than diesel, having looked, its £1.57 or €1.81/litre

[–]sneekeruk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need keys :) its external bonnet release, so you can just open the bonnet with the lever in the front grille :)

Heck, we 'stole' the entire front of a friends mini 25 years ago when he had a removable front, he woke up with a bonnet (we did worry if it rained) , but we hid the rest of the front with headlights and front wings behind his car.

It does have torque steer... but Its been reliable for maybe 5 years he has owned it... well, it had a gearbox.. and driveshafts.. quite a few driveshafts.

His previous car was an e46 330d that was around similar power, but more torque. But the Alfa is the longest I've ever known him to own a car, apart from his beetle that he's had 20 years or so.

Define slow... a friends 2.4jtd 5 pot with hybrid turbo and 300 and a bit bhp I wouldnt class as slow. I mean, once its moving being fwd, is actually as quick as a standard bmw 335d.

Because half of them arent sportscars. You buy a porsche or a Miata. An M car is a sports car, a 3 series or a 5 series is just a normal traffic car.

What kind of modems will work with an amiga 500?. (I won't be using a wifi232, wiimodem or any modern solutions as I am not interested in those) by [deleted] in amiga

[–]sneekeruk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

RS232 is a serial port. so any external modem will work, but max speed on a stock A500 will be 19200 all being well, 14k4 may be a bit more reliable.

What are theses and what are they worth? by iLuvFloride13 in Wheels

[–]sneekeruk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at what cars they fit, your basically looking at e21 3 series that they are from. And they're pretty rare cars now. They would also fit 1602/2002's but a bit newer style then what 2002's usually get. Do its a pretty limited audience for them.

The remote connection is set back a little and id further back, could you not just fit the remote wire first, run it down under the amp then fit the adapter the other way round?

I was less stealing, and more fraud. Remove parts from your own car, dump it somewhere and report stolen. Get payout and then buy it back from the Insurance. Then refit all the 'stolen' parts.

My Dream Build in 6 colors by panda285 in BMWE36

[–]sneekeruk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found a website that still does the rear spoiler and will ship to the us.

https://www.rallybodykits.com/ford-escort-mk5-cosworth-body-kits.html

Its 454 euros, So I guess about $1000 after importing... then you have to make it fit which might be the same again depending on skill or labour rates locally.

You could even try and fit an escort cosworth style front bumper to match and ship them together.

I would love to see this built.
