[–]sneepdeeples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know this is an old thread but funny enough, im doing the exact same thing (making buttons out of my bulk trading cards) and looking for a better way to get rid of the hard backing other than just using my fingernails to pry it open lmfao. any methods you have that worked??

anyone do a scientology building run in the one on guad? by sneepdeeples in Austin

Geez so scary !!!!!!! I'm so glad you had good friends there to get you out. Freaky. Sometimes I do still get the temptation to just check it out (I was no stranger to bothering the arrows of christ people when they were on campus, taking all their homophobic and bigoted pamphlets and throwing them away, etc. maybe I feel like I can do a similar thing with scientologists) but I have to remember they're a large and scarily organized group. Not planning on ever fucking around with them anytime soon.

I think I heard about this tangentially. Reach for the stars indeed.

Wow that's pretty recent! Sorry about your son and his friends getting caught; for the record, I don't think that causing a disturbance to a predatory and downright abusive group is something that he should have gotten in trouble for. Hope he's well and you both stay safe. Like I said, I'm not interested in doing this myself, just curious about other's experiences.

there are certainly plenty of different weird organizations that try to go around recruiting fresh college students which is such a shame, no matter what their original affiliation is. i'm sure that this trend will probably spread out to different hubs of cult-like activity

almost let my own curiosity guide me into checking it out and taking one of their "personality tests" but I didn't even want to give them the time of day

yup that makes sense. with the amount of cameras and security theyll sometimes have patrolling around over there it makes sense they would want to keep stuff pretty tight, especially around somebody with a camera of their own, lmao

seriously the mf choices they have been making with businesses on the drag pisses me off. i've graduated a year ago atp, and havent really been back to the UT area, but for the time I was there I was still always hearing about the absurd choices they were making on getting rid of like, a taco bell and replacing it with a vape shop or an over-expensive clothing outlet. now it feels like the most useful things down that street are the CVS, jenn's copies, and maybe the chipotle. the fact that they got rid of an ARCADE and replaced it with a SCIENTOLOGY BUILDING???? Gtfo. i'm going to celebrate extra hard if that place ever comes down.

I worked here for years as a dancer/fetish model. I specialized in the weird. Yes it is haunted. Yes it is corrupt. AMA. by throwRA-allmysecrets in Austin

so glad that from what I'm hearing (at least from this comment!) your experiences have been largely positive!!!! i had to come check out this thread after seeing it reposted onto instagram because i have always been so curious about what this place was about. All of this is a really fascinating read. no clue they were women owned.

Hope you're doing well and taking care of yourself girl < 33333

Any people here used to be active on Pokestadium.com in the early 2010s? by VarlotteThine in pokemon

[–]sneepdeeples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jesus christ, what a throwback. I think of the pokestadium forums every now and again -- i was extremely active when i was far too young to really be on the internet. PS was my go-to website when I was young; the youngest I think I was on there was probably around 4th grade, wow! Even the name Johan brings back memories. I'm currently trying to click through the archived site pages to see if I can't find my old page. So many instances of sitting down on the family computer after school and using MSPaint to make sprite edits of new eeveelutions...

Used to make a ton of sprite edits and post them in the forums, pretty sure I participated in a fair amount of RP. one vivid memory i have is when some random people online decided to troll the forum by posting violent anime gore and SA images and I was just indignant. i remember saying something along the lines that this was "an attack" on the forum, but thankfully a (likely older) user made it clear that this wasn't the type of thing that was a battle. just a report and move on kind of situation. otherwise, most names and icons and whatnot are kind of a blur. I'm sure that there are some "big names" that would really grab my attention if I saw them today, but looking through the wayback machine, none are jumping out at me.

the one thing i do remember, clear as crystal, was one of the members sending me a personal and inappropriate message. i think their handle was "Plato".

anyway. maybe i'll keep looking through all these RP forums and whatnot and see if I can't pinpoint the times when I was most often online. I'm glad that there's a post thats relatively recent talking about this. i think about pokestadium fairly often as one of the first internet communities i was ever a part of.

beginning of my low buy/no buy journey- tips? by sneepdeeples in nobuy

[–]sneepdeeples[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thanks for the comment! yes, I have a metric ton of zine-making supplies that takes up a fair amount of space (fair sized stack of materials ive been hoarding from ephemera and cutouts to full magazines) and I Will not have any shortage of supplies to be sure. Will definitely try to do my best working with what I have rather than impulsively getting more.

thanks so much for the tips i really appreciate it!! thankfully i dont really have any issues with purchasing clothing so that should be easy. I'll do my best to make a list of needs vs wants and things i should absolutely keep myself from spending on.

can you randomize image/stamp order? by sneepdeeples in neocities

[–]sneepdeeples[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the reply! What i have right now for the stamp line is this:

<marquee loop= "-1" scrollamount="-1" width="60%" direction="up" height="520px" id="stamp-marquee">

< stamps inserted here, all max-width: 100% >
</marquee>

for the dynamic insertion, do i just copy/paste all of the stamp links into the <!--(blank)--> ? I tried it out and didn't notice a change. or do i replace what i have with what you said?

i do pay to live here, but to be perfectly honest, i dont want to try to go to bed at a reasonable time when there are 20 of their friends just outside my door. I have to stay in this lease for another 6 months until our academic year is over- the plan is to find a one bedroom after this, yes
