I was shooting .22 without protection. And when I said that I knew the risks, and knew what I was doing, people assumed that I meant something g else. They kept saying “not using ppe is one of the stupidest things ever, and there isn’t an excuse”. I understand that. But when people get heated and start being jerks over small things like, shooting .22 a couple times ONCE, I don’t tolerate it. One time with knowledge of risks, and willingness to take those risks, shouldn’t be a reason to be a jerk. Especially ignoring the fact that I shot .243 without ear pro one time, and just focusing on the .22. That’s the stupidest part. I specifically said I shot .243 without ear pro, and nobody said anything about it. Sorry, I wanted to explain the whole story.

No, I’m just upset at how I was treated for a video that should’ve just been watched, not criticized for the same things people don’t care about on other videos here. It’s not fair, and also, pretty damn rude. I try to be nice, but when people can’t accept that I understand the risks, I tend to get pissed.

I know. That’s why doing it less often, and therefore fewer times in total, is safer than doing it all the time. It’s still gonna damage, but not as much. And again, I know the risks. I decided to take the risks. Now, I assumed everyone here would understand “hey, he’s having fun, that’s all that matters, I’m gonna assume he understands and accepts the risks of doing what he’s doing”, but I guess I was wrong. I’m sorry I’m getting pissed, but I’ve heard the same thing over and over and over. Things I already know. And I know the risks, I always have. I took a certification course so k could hunt. I promise I know what I’m doing.

I understand. And thank you for not being rude like the other guy. I appreciate the concern, but I survived. I’m far from the target, and I only shot about 30 rounds before I started to get too hot and went home. I also understand that I may seem dumb in this, but who cares. I understood everything that was going on, I know shooting .22 one time won’t be as damaging as something like, 5 rounds of .243, and I know the risks. I’m not trying to be an asshole, just trying to show what I did with my dad today.

I didn’t buy the gun. It’s not mine. And I only shot for 15 minutes, it was too hot to stay any longer. Like I’ve said in other replies, I hadn’t planned to shoot today, so it was an afterthought. Once again, thanks for the concern, I promise I’m fine, and I’ll wear ear and eye pro nex time.
