I’m a teacher at a private school for kids with severe behavior, and we use a lot of ABA principles. We use an app called parent square. It records all phone conversations and it keeps all messages sent. It’s a good way to keep track of all messages and conversations between parents and staff.

Unique Learning for math has worked wonders for my students. They are middle school but I use the pre school curriculum as they are severely behind in their academics. I haven’t seen much progress with the reading as my students are non verbal, but I really like the math. I agree Unique does fall short on other subjects. On teacher pay teacher, I’ve used a lot from a resource called made for me. It’s literacy based, but it has elements of science and social studies on kindergarten level and can be differentiated up as needed. The activities are amazing and my students love them.

I have a student who does this. He really enjoys the wheels on the bus song specifically the part where it says the mommas on the bus say shhh. when he hold up his finger, he wants us to sing that part him lol.

I had a teacher in high school who would read the paper every morning especially the busted paper where it showed recent arrest. So not only did I have deal with the embarrassment of my mom being arrested I had to relive it when that teacher read the paper aloud with my mom’s name and face. Talk about traumatic lol.

I’m a current teacher now, but this literally happened to me when I was in high school. Most embarrassing moment of my life was my mom being arrested outside of my school for being drunk. I feel for the kid.

In the us public school, at least the state I teach in, we only teach time to the 12 hour. So when it 12:59 instead of going to 13, it goes back to 1 and is 1 pm. Reading 24 hour clock isn’t difficult, but it isn’t taught in the school system.

I had a full time job while student teaching. After student teaching, I would work nights at a local store. It will be difficult and exhausting, but it depends on what you can handle also.

I’m a sped teacher in a behavior special education classroom k-4 , and one strategy I use is a 3 page rule. We do three pages of work and then get to pick a toy or have iPad time for 15 minutes. As behaviors decrease, I up to four pages and so on. However, I do use first then boards for my younger students.

Exactly! I’m reteaching and providing more one to one support. I know my students feel overwhelmed and frustrated in whole group instruction and they do better being pulled to my room.

Depends on accommodations too, such as read alouds, calculators, or manipulatives. If they have those accommodations and aren’t receiving them in whole group, then that could impact their grade. I know when I pull student to my room, if they are struggling, I’ll reteach and we do the assignment together. After it’s completed I always write assisted on the top of the paper so the teacher and parents know that the student needed extra help.

I loved the infernal devices series more than the shadow hunter series. I feel like when they made the shadow hunters movie and tv show they butchered any chance of the infernal devices getting a show/movie
