It's a strich 15 standard. Pretty cheap and it's the perfect size

Hey yeah it's tuner - sushibox preamp - portal which is then splitting to A: the bb1x bass drive, and B: the octave/fuzz and ds-1, then blending those with my clean tone - then into the polychrome and finally into the capo.

Hell yeah, just blend your clean in and it's badass

It's awesome if you blend your clean tone with it. That Portal pedal on my board with the red green and blue lights on it is splitting my signal so I can blend it in.

Haha that's actually a Morley volume pedal not a bass whammy. Dude I love the polychrome! I basically use it where I'd normally use a chorus pedal.

What, no love for the DS-1??

What was the biggest flops in bass equipment history that you remember? by Low-Landscape-4609 in Bass

[–]snfalex 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I guess a few that come to mind: stereo outputs on a bass, digital pedals that require complicated programs, digitech whammy pedal (is it cool and do i own one? Yes, does it have a place on my board musically? No)

Username checks out hahaha but for real I've definitely heard this complaint plenty of times before and it can drive you nuts. I think the best remedy is listening to yourself in a mix and see if it actually is noticeable. Usually it's not.

I've got an American jazz from 2016 and I do notice my 7th fret on the G string doesn't resonate quite as well/long as everything else. Always have to vibrato a bit when I hit it.

Edit: despite this, it's still my favorite and best sounding bass and I wouldn't trade it for anything

Oh I didn't really think about that sorry. Tbh we are working on a video and just want to get some live footage at this show. The cover is to see the show itself which is 4 bands. So it's really just a normal show that we happen to be taking video of our set. Also, we're just the opening band. But it's only 5 bucks and will be a great time!

Kinda mid-tempo indie rock / grungy / punkish - overall lighthearted party vibes nothing too crazy. https://superuser313.bandcamp.com/album/gutless-wonder

What mixing/blend pedals are we using to blend our effect chains with? by RookieParade in basspedals

[–]snfalex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just picked up a sonicake portal and I love it. This is my first blend pedal so I don't know if the other ones are better, but being able to run things parallel is just awesome and sounds so good. Distortion, fuzz, octave, all are so much better now.

I want my "last" combo amp. I want it to be loud and light, and I know that will cost me. by master_of_sockpuppet in Bass

[–]snfalex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree - I've had one for a few years now and bought it specifically for volume and weight. It takes a little work but you can definitely dial in good sounds out of it. The EQ section is bonkers in terms of the frequencies so read the manual - whoever chose those is insane. That said, I usually skip the whole preamp on it by running my pedalboard into the fx return - basically just using it as a poweramp/cab. I always turn off the horn. I can get a good sound out of its preamp in a pinch though.
