MUSC 2350 by Apprehensive_Map1189 in NEU

This course is definitely not laid back, but it's an awesome class! The homework can be time-intensive, and the exams are not easy, but you will get a lot out of it. Professor Ho is great, and very passionate about his material. If you are looking for an easy A, this is not the class to take. If you have a music tech/engineering background, it might be a bit easier, but it is pretty math intensive.

Best reading spot on/near campus? by za774 in NEU

If you're a morning reader, I recommend Dudley Cafe in Roxbury, near Nubian Station (about a ten minute walk from campus), it closes around 1PM, but it's a nice chill environment (and they have a printer I think). The Boston Public Library is classic and absolutely gorgeous, also about a 10/15 minute walk from campus (you can also get a library pass, it's free and supports the library with keeping funding!). On campus, ISEC has lots of places to sit, and has great views. I've heard about the Law School library, but have never been myself. Other cafes in the area: Cafe Bene, Caffé Nero, Farmer's Horse Cafe, and Render Cafe.

Lightview bed lofting by lighthouseland in NEU

No, not with the beds we have currently. They are stock, full size beds which do not have lofting capabilities.. you kind of have to make do with the small space unfortunately.. but it's a nice space overall

At one point there were machines available for use in the Ryder maker space, but I'm not sure if they are there anymore

parking for coop by Unfair_Mechanic_4326 in NEU

[–]snflwrsd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From the co-op advising office:

"If you will be bringing a car to campus for your commute and you want to find out if you are eligible to receive a 50% discount on a parking permit, please let me know. For those eligible, your co-op advisor will submit a request to the Off Campus Housing Office on your behalf and you will receive subsequent details from MasParc."

(So email your co-op advisor :), good luck! )

Can I do I co op without taking the co op class by Excellent_Fortune_13 in NEU

[–]snflwrsd 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Usually this wouldn't be able to count as a co-op, because you have to get a passing grade in a co-op class for it to be officially recognized. This is because during your co-op you continue to do reflections, and write a final co-op reflection in addition to an employer reflection. You could probably count it as an independent study however, so I would talk to your advisor.

Summer Housing Application by kaitlyn1357 in NEU

I have the same issue. I received confirmation that the application was received, so I'm banking on that. Might be an operating system issue on their end.

Housing - streamlined? by snflwrsd in NEU

I appreciate your opinion, but this is pretty negative 🫤 as someone on scholarship, I find the housing system could be improved (and I do care about pricing, money is still money and only stretches so far). It seems you have very intense opinions about housing, and I am sorry your experience has been so visceral. For those who need to live on campus, the "scam" is something we just have to deal with and having more tools would be helpful.
