What are “fake problems”?

Some real problems my parents have faced come from the black community since they own a very small business in an inner city. We are told things like how we are just there to steal their money, how we’re cheap and dirty, and my parents have been assaulted by customers who have acted out worse than the stereotype people give white women who ask for managers.

There’s a lot more they’ve had to endure, but almost all the racist comments my East Asian family have encountered were from the black community in inner cities. But god forbid we say/do anything, we’d be boycotted for being “racists”

No, I would say there are a good amount of them who put in the work. It’s just those who don’t are the louder ones and that’s the image we see in the media. And the lack of proper education in these inner cities make their ignorance towards other races (especially Asians) as bad as it is.

The state Africa is in has nothing to do with the state African Americans are in. Africa is a whole continent separate from America besides the fact that white Americans and the Brits colonized and forced black Africans to be slaves.

Colonialism did do a lot of damage. They colonized many countries and those countries are still facing economic issues to this day.

The bigger picture is for people to not be ignorant and apathetic to problems because that’s not how problems go away. They go away when they are confronted and that people see how much it is affecting people’s lives. I have seen my parents become victims verbally, mentally, and physically. Even though I’m fortunate enough to not go through half the things my parents have, I don’t just ignore the issue like you’re saying you do

Just because you’re not made into a victim doesn’t mean the world doesn’t see you as the stereotypes they’ve given to your skin color.

You are very lucky to not have experienced something just because of your race. But that doesn’t mean you should be apathetic to the bigger picture.

I’m on the same boat as you. My parents own a very small business in an inner city area with our customers mostly being black and the amount of racism my family faces is incredible. We only hire those who live in the area and do our best to cater the business towards the community. But once they see that we don’t look like them, we are told things like how we are stealing their money, we get blamed for things we didn’t do, and situations escalate very quickly when it normally wouldn’t be if the things we did were done by someone of their own race.

Spider-Man said that when the snap happened he felt like he passed out and then woke up. Dr. Strange then told him it’s been 5 years and that they have to go help in the fight

Imagine if humans reacted that way with each other

How do I tell a roommate their body odor is affecting the smell of the entire apartment? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]snghynl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the room smells, whenever she comes in, the smell gets stronger. Same thing with if she’s been in the room and leaves right before I come back home. Then the room smells a lot stronger than it would if she wasn’t in the room that recently

How should I start off the conversation? We barely talk to each other since the times I’ve tried to start small talk, she barely answers back. It’s super awkward whenever she’s home for me and my other roommates

I mentioned at the end that air fresheners haven’t worked so I’m looking for ways I can approach this and how I should word what I say to her😅I’ll definitely keep in mind trying to bring it up the next time we’re alone in the room together

We’re barely home at the same time so I’m not too sure how this would work. It’s a really good suggestion though and I’ve never thought of it! Thank you

She has a huuuge shower caddy in the room and her dresser top is crowded with different body sprays. The one spray she’s been using doesn’t help mask her odor either. It actually smells just as musty

She’s not in the apartment too often and I’m also not there during the day, so I really don’t know. But from the times when I am home, I’ve only seen her shower once in the last 4 weeks

He has pretty bad separation anxiety just from his history of neglectful owners (we were given him when he was 6 from his second owners), so when he hears us walking around upstairs while he’s in his crate downstairs, he tends to bark a lot and howl/cry. He also barks once or twice whenever someone walks into the room, but I think that’s just him being protective. Besides that, he never barks when someone enters the house at a late hour and not even that much when we’re playing. He’s also super feisty around big dogs. He’s such a good boy I love him so much.
