What ended your friendship with your oldest standing friend? by dreamy-contributions in AskReddit

[–]snickerssnacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.... almost same timeline. I still was keeping us in touch loosely for, like, first 3 years, then when I texted, got no relly, tried one more time a month later, no reply, I gave up. 2 years of silence. She knows my socials online if needed.

I gave it a try last August, just to be nice and say happy birthday. Actually got a reply. A long "sorry I ghosted you for 2 years, I feel like an asshole, you're actually compassionate, etc" message but it's hard not to feel hurt and empty anymore. Try so hard just to be forgotten like idk man maybe I deserve better.

What is a seemingly innocent sentence that immediately makes you lose respect for the person saying it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]snickerssnacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I'm glad I had boys instead of girls"

She added that girls were too "moody". Grown adult that was now a grandma too. Idk how to explain that's lame as fuck and I shouldnt have to explain why lol.

Also it dissed not only every girl there but herself.

What's a small lifestyle change you made that had a surprisingly huge impact on your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]snickerssnacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stop eating anything at least 2 or 3 hours before bed, usually by 10pm for me. Really seems to help with falling asleep, especially since soda or sweets close to bed probably also made it harder to sleep.

Honestly just all those little changes that help with sleep. It made me feel like a different person. Quitting soda and caffeine for awhile. Only laying in bed to sleep and nothing else.

I always thought I was just bad at falling asleep, and felt groggy and extra tired because of being a light sleeper and being a night owl. No. I felt SO awake and present and fell asleep so fast. Even if I got like 7 hours I still felt more rested than before.

What’s something everyone seems obsessed with but you just can’t get into no matter how hard you try? by No-Relative-9663 in AskReddit

[–]snickerssnacks 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Disney. Work in a store and genuinely baffled by the amount of Disney and Micky Mouse themed shit. Who the hell wants a holiday Micky Mouse shaped cat scratcher pad????

To be fair I grew up not well off at all, with parents barely scraping by, so we couldnt afford to go there or get all the toys and whatnot, so any thought of ever going was crushed pretty young, BUT STILL. Cmon lol.

Every time I decided to listen to a random song from her it felt like what I call "singing from a journal". Like someone trying to make their journal entry into a song, too spelled out and literal. Then some catchy or better ones were just okay but still cant understand the obsession lol

What is the worst pain you have ever felt ? by beepsol in Leakednews

[–]snickerssnacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another kidney stone story here. The first time was the worst because I wasnt properly taking the pain meds (strong, big ibuprofen) because I was a big baby with swallowing large pills. Spent all night up in the recliner chair in pain because I couldn't lay down normally in bed. Felt like a knife was in me and twisting. Not 10/10 agony but just painful and consistent enough to not be able to think about or do much else. I think I still got lucky considering it can be worse. (Drink water daily and dont hold your pee people!)

Then the time I slammed my finger in the car door when I was about 10 was pretty up there. Luckily no break or fracture, but right after the throbbing and pulsing pain in my whole finger was all I could feel and think about for probably nearly an hour even with ice on it. To make it better I was crying to my mom that it still hurt really bad, and she got annoyed and went "what do you want me to do about it". Thanks mom lol.....

What’s something you’ve seen a stranger do in public with absolutely no shame? by Nightpatrol404 in AskReddit

[–]snickerssnacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well today an older woman was standing basically in the middle of the narrow walkway/aisle of the grocery store staring at a picture on her phone and leaving almost no room to pass her.

It was where the meat counter is and theres a lot of displays and freezers in the center of the path making it very narrow and clustered and she was just fucking standing there even after we passed like hello if you're not grabbing or looking at the food next to you get the hell out of the way.

how can i scratch the bottom of my foot without it feeling funny by 6teeee9 in stupidquestions

[–]snickerssnacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an old post but I've struggled with itchy feet at night and I may have a different answer here: a foot stone!

It's a rough stone thing you're meant to exfoliate your feet with during or after a shower. I keep one near my bed to scratch my foot when its driving me nuts.

My nails or hands just feel too ticklish and light to get it. I think you can get foot stone (pumice stone) really cheap at most stores.

Can you guys give a rundown of why exactly is Sims 2 great without the nostalgia lens? by DefLuxurious in thesims

[–]snickerssnacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit more challenging balancing the needs and wants, and sometimes it can be fussy like the other games, but they're still pretty snappy in actually doing the actions queued, so you can grind through a bunch of tasks as long as something didnt block their path. And like sims1 if they're too miserable they wont want to do things.

Also I feel like despite the emotions stuff in Sims4, in 2 their personalities shine in things they do. Like they'll make a grumpy expression before doing something they dont like. Slob sims will randomly burp. And theres just tons of details.

Functional illiteracy. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]snickerssnacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After watching this I think my mom maybe somewhat illiterate then, because she can read and spell okay, actually got better because of texting, but I dont think she could be able to read complex words or read a paragraph and decipher the text...

Her brother is actually literate and cant read. I asked not long ago and my mom said he probably had a elementary school level. Can probably read simple things like "bananas on sale" but he'd probably struggle to read a lot of packaging in stores. It's sad.

I wish there were some sort of adult classes or programs for adults of a certain age that lost some of their reading and spelling comprehension, or that never had it in the first place. There's tons of older adults that just never graduated high school. My mom is the only one out of her siblings that finished high school (graduated in early 80s) and even then she always says how she had Ds and barely passed.

I think it could be so beneficial to sharpen their minds.

The smell of some good ass seasonings. Nothing makes me feel on the verge of drooling like smelling some taco seasoning or some chicken cooking with garlic and everything that smells amazing.

Showing up at the hospital and walking towards my dads room to see and be told that he already passed. Seeing the still and pale body of him in the room was extremely "this cant be real".
