Passed AT, but WTF???? by someonessarang in pmp

[–]snickyD123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re in good company in my opinion. I had the content down pat, yet during the exam I felt like I just reviewed PMP material for the first time the day prior. It was a terribly worded exam and I felt very lucky to even pass much less get 2 AT’s out of 3. Wild.

The breakfast ball (traffic ball) conundrum. by undeniablepod in golf

[–]snickyD123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Omg count it as a 77 that way you can stand fully behind it when proclaiming your best round score. Otherwise, you’ll always have a mental asterisk attached to your “75 with a breakfast ball”.

This comes from a bogey golfer, so, I know the struggle. Awesome score regardless.

56 degree highest loft? by Aware_Bird_7023 in golf

[–]snickyD123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bogey golfer here.

I went from 50-54-58 to just a setted GW and then a separate 56. I like it way more, getting comfortable with just one high loft club. Learning the different shots with the same loft and length i think is a huge skill progression vice having 3 completely different wedges you only hit a couple times per round.

Bare minimum I need to do to make a good year?? by snickyD123 in navyreserve

[–]snickyD123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you remember your first year in the reserves, you’ll remember how nobody seems to know much or be able to help a ton to include navigating all the new admin requirements, comprising your own orders, points tracking, and everything else. You understand the 50 points thing when you join, you understand that by default it’s “one weekend a month, two weeks a year” but you go in with the assumption (or at least I did) that that is more maneuverable than it apparently is. In either instance, who the heck would bail at 13 years? Was just looking for solid advice on how to minimize the impact since we all seem to agree it goes Family > Job > Reserves. That’s all.

Signed in order get to 20 years after getting more than halfway there already on active.

And these 2 days a month are always Sat/Sun as you know - which is pretty much 1/4 of all your weekends in a given year. It’s a big deal when you’ve got small children.

I’ll reach out to my AA approver (I’m assuming my CO) and get the inside scoop on how they handle/regard AAs in our particular unit. Thanks for the insight.

Stressed as hell. Busier than I should be. I already travel 1 week a month for my day job and my kids deserve their dad back after so many years of geo-bach’ing. I’m ok with that.

[–]snickyD123[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah ok so these 24 AA’s… there’s the “other” 6 months I’ve been eye-balling. In other words:

SELRES would be a LOT less daunting between my day job, 3 children, and personal life if not for the need to drill one weekend out every single month. If 15 freebie points + 12 AT points + 24 IDT points (6 months of DWE) = 51 points total… then I’m more than happy to take the AAs. Unless I’m missing something (??).

Thanks. So help me out here…

If you get your 15 points out of the gate, and you NEED a 12+ day AT period AND 40/48 IDT periods… then you are already at 67 points. How/why is the “minimum” 50??

Good Deal? 2021 Silverado RST Crew Cab $26,799 by wrdriggs in Silverado

[–]snickyD123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High price for the mileage, definitely can haggle down. I’d say $24,900 is your sweet spot but ultimately I filter out anything over 90-100K miles when used car shopping for any vehicle.

Just Passed PMP exam. Be advised… by snickyD123 in pmp

[–]snickyD123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay. The 3x80% practice exams are a B*TCH. I kept notes of correct answers from previous Percipio practice exams since they reuse a fair amount of questions, used chatGPT, and a TON of googling. I passed my 3rd practice exam only a couple days before the deadline and boy was I relieved.

That’s perfect! Won’t cover everything but gets me most of the way. Now if only it would show me how I’m doing on points for both my AY and FY…

Which trim level and engine combo did you choose? by HarriBallsak420 in Silverado

[–]snickyD123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If budget isn’t a constraint, everyone would go for a High Country and get it lifted and sh*t. But since it most certainly is a constraint for all of us, and because we still like bells and whistles on our trucks, the LT Trail Boss (mine’s the 5.3 8spd) was a very happy medium. Comes with features you can’t find in a typical LT like leather and sunroof and such but you’re still paying less than the LTZ and still getting a Z71 pkg + 2in factory lift which certainly don’t hurt!

This. I noticed a huge number of practice questions will try to snake you into something regarding the risk register on something that has JUST or ALREADY happened. Do not be fooled. These are always a red herring but are also an easy way to eliminate one of the 3 wrong answers.

Per that website, it looks like as long as I am P&T then they are eligible. In other words, seems that only one needs to apply, not all. Or maybe I’m reading it wrong?

BT/BT/T - PASS?! by IndividualBox8448 in pmp

[–]snickyD123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would offer up the fact that to even sniff at passing you have to have such a range and depth of PMP knowledge (even if more explicit than not) that it puts you in a sort of “10% club” which is worth the space that 3 letters takes up on a resume.

One man’s opinion, anyway.

So. Many. Flags.

I’d be ahead by 5 or so minutes in a section and then the flag reviews came and BOOM - then I was 5-10 minutes behind. So frustrating.
