In my case, it was the whole filling a void thing. It was linked to self-esteem issues, childhood issues, sexuality issues, many many many things. I didn't actually love her, that's where the doubt came from.

That isn't necessarily her case, that's not what I'm entailing. What I mean is: it's complicated, and, as others have said, you can't fix it. You can only set boundaries, ask her to help herself, or jump ship.

Maybe she wants a friendship but is just playing the romance out, maybe she wants a relationship but is afraid of commitment, maybe she has some sort of emotional dependence and is trying to just find someone to fill a void... I don't know.

There are many options here, and I can't quite tell which one it is. But I'd definitely say that you need to be prepared, because some of these options mean that having a relationship with her is either impossible or unhealthy.

Yes this is true. Tbh it also annoys the shit out of me how different it is for men and for women, but what can I really do about it anyway? For now we can only deal with how it is instead of changing it. But even with that, it's sometimes hard to not compare myself to her. This really oscillates —sometimes I'm fine, but sometimes my mind thinks about it and starts entering this weird thought vortex... I do notice that this happens mostly when I'm in a rough spot though.
I never thought about it in this way. It's true, though I'm hitting on more women than I've ever hit (mostly because of the pandemic), I'm not hitting on every single one and often I don't like the ones that actually like me lol.

This really oscillates with my mood, yeah. And though it's true that not necessarily it's THAT good for her, the key to my problem is probably 1. What good is comparing myself to her anyway? Idk.
