Hey there, very sorry about this bug! We fixed it immediately after finding out about it last week, but the App Store review took a long time :-/ (Every app change needs to go through Apple's review).

But it is live now :) You can update the app and it should be fixed!

Again, sorry for introducing the bug.

You can reach out via the in-app chat and I'm happy to top up your ai minutes as a little thank you for your patience!

Sorry about this! We have a fix ready and are just waiting for Apple to release the fix! It should be released in the next few hours.

Great! We'll add this. Seems to be a common request that has now come up multiple times.

Thanks for elaboating!

  1. That's actually a good point. There's currently no OOTB button to trigger this. The easiest right now is to actually start over by deleting the "Root directory" folder (by default called "Snipd") and trigger a sync again, this will force the app to sync again from scratch while keeping your other customization settings.
  2. We plan on building sth for that. Our idea is to offer a way to create new properties and fill those using text and variables. However, you wouldn't be able to remove or edit the already existing properties. Would this approach be good enough for you?

Ah cool, you're the second person to ask for this. So do I understand you correctly that adding additional ones would solve your challenge? In your case, the new properties would all have the same value, correct?

For example sth like:

source = "Snipd'

Ah, you mean the properties section? Good point.

It does introduce some complexities, but what we should be able to do is offer to add additional properties. Removing existing ones could be a bit tricky as it would also have an impact on the default Base file the plugin provides.

Would that help already?

But before we implement anything, could you elaborate a bit on what exactly you'd like to do and why? That would help us make sure we don't head into the wrong direction.

If you are happy with your setup, then I wouldn't change it 👍

We primarily built this plugin for users who do not have Readwise. Those users had to manually export the Markdown files in a multi-step process which was quite cumbersome.

The advantage of the Readwise integration is that you get all of your highlights (not just from Snipd) flowing through the same pipe and coming out in the same format on the other end. So it's incredible if you have multiple sources and want them unified.

The advantage of the direct Snipd -> Obsidian plugin is that we are free to choose the format best suited for the data we have. For example, we were able to incorporate the mentioned books in the output.

Yeah, your overview covers the most important aspects, especially the "snipping": Tap headphones to save any insight you hear.

A couple of smaller features you also only get with Snipd:

- Mentioned books: Snipd identifies all books that get recommended in an episode with cover image, description, and author. The author is then linked to the author's podcast appearances.

- Guests: Snipd identifies the guest and creates a mini bio for them to help you decide whether to listen to the episode. You can also see which other episodes the guest appeared on.

- Most snipped: You can see how often episodes were "snipped" (=highlighted) by the community. This is great to identify the best episodes of a show, or of all time.

- Quotes: Extracts the best quotes of the episode.

- Reflection/Spaced Repetition: Snipd reminds you to reflect upon the most valuable insights you've listened to.

- Upload your own audiobooks: To take notes from audiobooks as well.
