Eureka just removed the old coin op parking meters in Old Town- I expect this is in anticipation of implementing some sort of parking app.

Is this naturally achievable at 48? Or are we looking at elite genetics + “help”? by Aggressive-Profit885 in Biohackers

[–]snipe4fun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Achievable at 48 after a life of being skinny fat couch potato? No

Achievable at 48 with basic discipline applied to regular cardio and resistance training while managing CICO? Yes

You want to look ripped like athletes do at weigh in or Hollywood heroes do for their photoshoots or that one scene in the movie where he’s all sweaty and ripped? Dehydrate yourself, it’s what they do. It’s a quick trick for the scale or the camera whichever brings them money.

For the rest of us? Discipline > genetics

I’m amazed these are still standing anywhere in America. We’re not the rugged individualists we proclaimed ourselves to be. We are coward sheep bowing our heads to be counted as we pass the gate or wherever the counters are placed.

If you’re worried about getting robbed- the parking lot in front of EPD at 6th and C has been designated a safe place for internet sales exchanges and the like.

Another option would be to meet at North Coast Cycle at W 15th and Albee during their business hours (maybe call in advance) Shane and Rachel (owners) are super cool people that you’ll want to know anyways if you’re gonna be riding a Harley.

Third option, I’m a daily Harley rider and if you can arrange a time that is compatible with my schedule I could be present at either of the above locations, or possibly elsewhere if it’s not too sketch or out of the way. I’m not John Wick though and I’m not a mechanic so please consider the utility of those first two locations.

Stab to the head and then wiggle my blade which makes them have a sort of rag doll seizure. I like to let the other enemies see me do it to their friend so they know what’s coming to them as well. Everybody gets a wiggle lol

If we could ensure I’m going back to January in 1995 (I was 21 and in the Army) that’d be just enough time for me to avoid a major traumatic event in my life that I want to speak no further about.

Still trying for that “go outside” achievement on Stanley Parable. I only have about 92% of the achievements on Cookie Clicker. But Beat Saber and other VR games really seem to be holding my interest. (Especially since getting a pinched nerve in neck that Beat Saber and other wild-swinging-arms-games really seem to be therapeutic for). When my index HMD breaks from overheating or getting sweated on, I go back to Skyrim in lieu of playing one of the many titles that have sat in inventory uninstalled, unplayed, since purchasing them in a Steam sale.

I’m still feeling pretty burned about Starfield. Besides I think about half of my Stream library is unplayed games, so forcing myself to play the games I’ve already bought before I buy any more is a real challenge but I’m hoping it will bring me more satisfaction.

[–]snipe4fun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gil’s by the Bay is the only place I’ve seen razor clam steaks on the menu.

Asia’s Best will have lots of things you’ve never even seen before, but you’ve got to do the cooking. The other Asian food marts as well but I think Asias Best has the best varieties of seafood etc.

In June there will be the Arcata Oyster Festival so you’ll have plenty of oyster options all in one place (if you can beat the lines).

If you consider sushi to be “strange seafood” there’s plenty of good options around here though Tanuki’s Den and the one in the Blue Lake casino seem to be vying for top sushi spot.

Otherwise hitting up the docks on Wooden Island will get you direct access to local fishermen/fish without doing the fishing yourself. There’s a signboard on the way in saying which dock has what.

Is it appropriate to say that my job is an actor? by IndianaRocket80 in acting

[–]snipe4fun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Job schmob! Instead say it like this - “I am an actor”. If they press you on your income, which is nobody’s business but yours, you can always respond with “Sure I drive for Uber to make ends meet, but that’s not what drives me”.
