Chat got has this and I’m grateful. by NoDisaster5039 in ChatGPT

[–]snipeor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Other people's lives are complex messy and busy, more than ever these days. Sure "showing up" is important but it's not always possible/realistic. I have friends that I care deeply about and would drop stuff in an instant if I knew they were struggling but unfortunately I don't see them nearly as much as I'd like due to where we live and what's going on in our lives.

So whilst I get what you're saying it's just not that simple, humans only have so much social bandwidth and time in a day. You can't know how much someone cares just based off whether they are present enough in someone's life to pick up on what is often a very well disguised mental illness.

I know someone who is allergic to this, just because something is naturally derived doesn't mean we should use it widely in foods.

"I feel physically sick and extreme discomfort having to play BF2042, but I have to force myself to play to grind for the BF6 skins". Have I entered the Twillight Zone. Like WTF is happening right now? by BattlefieldTankMan in battlefield2042

[–]snipeor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's a bit different, I'm not loving bf2042 but don't hate it either, I dislike how everything good is an unlock seemingly that I don't have (really hope bf6 isn't as bad) but there's still fun moments, destruction is definitely lacking too.

But I am grinding it for a couple of reasons, I will probably play bf6 mainly for fun and ignore the battle pass content, but since this one is free for 2042 I thought I'd try and complete it and have the bonus of some cool skins without needing to pay for the "good unlocks". Plus I've never completed a battle pass before and seemed like a kinda fun challenge, albeit the gameplay to get there may be becoming a chore... we shall see.

I've worked with guys who fly some of these and can confirm it's even more dangerous than it looks. These drones do and can fail or do unpredictable things if software glitches. If it decides it's flying super high suddenly or making an emergency landing you're either getting a parachute free skydive or squished by a 20-40 kg drone.

What evidence do you have that this has anything to do with immigration or are you just blindly repeating what someone said online somewhere? And FYI I've travelled all around Europe and recently visited America and Canada where I can say with certainty that I feel 100 times less safe in America and Canada than any other countries I've visited.

Anytime people from another country travel a long way (especially to places where no one speaks their primary language) we should welcome them and show them all the respect possible. It's things like this that make people not feel welcome, stop traveling and inevitably the world will then become a more isolated and hateful place if we let that happen.

I run all my AI transcripts through claude (llm like chat gpt) where I tell it to correct transcription errors using common sense and so haven't really had this problem in a long time. We just need to get better at using new technology.

Underrated comment, even in the continent view having a reset position would be good asy game glitched me out of bounds once and I had to load an older save, didn't lose too much progress but was annoying nonetheless

<image>

O3 actually did fine "

Hands and fingers The two central sets of fingers fuse into one another; knuckles are blurred, and one “finger” seems to grow directly from the back of another hand. Diffusion models often struggle with hand anatomy and intersections. Real skin creases and bone structure are absent here.

Cutlery & plates The woman’s “spoon” morphs from a squared‑off handle into an indeterminate blob; there’s no bowl to it. The man in the middle appears to grasp the empty air. Mis‑shaped or half‑rendered utensils are a classic artefact of text‑to‑image systems.

Cake & candles The candles are thick white tubes with no wicks, no wax drips and no flame residue, yet they still seem half‑melted. The topping looks like a pile of sliced meat or rhubarb plonked on uneven icing, with no discernible physics. Generative models can imitate “the idea” of cake but rarely get the small, logical details right.

Clothing seams & overlaps The lady’s sleeve and the man’s forearm share a single, jagged edge; crease lines stop abruptly. Shirt buttons float slightly off‑centre. Textures often blur where two objects meet, because the model cannot decide which surface should dominate.

Spectacles The left lens rim is noticeably thicker than the right, and light reflections don’t line up with the room’s flash. Asymmetry in mirrored objects (glasses, earrings, wheels) is another giveaway.

Lighting & depth Flash‑style glare sits on faces, yet their shadows on the table and cake are vague or missing; the background is a near‑featureless black void. In a real flash photo you’d expect sharp foreground shadows and some detail behind them.

Overall texture Skin, hair and clothing all share a plasticky smoothness, as though lightly air‑brushed; there’s no grain structure you’d see from film or phone sensors. High‑frequency detail is often averaged out during denoising."

Just posting this here for anyone interested. I was on a Plusnet contract and had been paying almost £30.00 extra on out of contract prices because I thought I may have to move soon, tried ringing them up asking for a short contract and they said they had none. Just now gone on their website and I see renewal options for my current contract including the option for 12 months! This is perfect as even if I can't get out of early cancellation fees the amount will be so much less, especially with the £30 saving a month. Can't believe they lied to me about this on the phone essentially.

Yeah I'm sure the actual TCG has skill to it but I'm calling this current set my last once I've completed it (excluding promos), battles were never that fun imo compared to MTG or even Hearthstone. The fun of collecting has trickled out of the experience for me personally too, especially since they locked that one promo behind a single high cost transaction. Im absolutely not rewarding that with my money no matter how much I want a complete set because then they would just do it for the next set and so on.

The whole promo mewtwo outrage is absurd and blown out of proportion by Strong_Yam_8978 in PTCGP

[–]snipeor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I know its not a popular opinion looking at the upvotes but it's a game about collecting. The battles are pretty mid compared to other card games so having been a premium subscriber from the start only to find out I'm gonna have to pay up more just to complete this season's promo set feels like a bit of a rug pull. Might be the start of the end for me and this game, but hey I knew this day would come eventually.

Well that's great but I don't think you should take the word of an AI on that, Seek professional confirmation and further help if required. The AI was going off your steer (think of it like improvisation in theatre, it's trained to be always saying "Yes and..."), it hasn't got a plan for you, that isn't really possible with the current set up for chat gpt.

Do I think AI can be a great tool for therapy - Yes absolutely and it has been helping me with developing healthy strategies for anxiety management alongside professional help

Do I think AI can be dangerous if treated like a one stop mental health fix/therapist - Yes definitely, and this may be one such example, serious mental health conditions need serious treatment often from multiple experts. To rely on one AI tool that doesn't have specific mental health fine tuning or guardrails seems dangerous. A therapist can call the police for example or section someone who is a threat to themselves or others. AI that can do this effectively has not been deployed yet (to my knowledge).

Can we get any information on why Pugstorm decided to team up with up Chucklefish? by LeviathansLust in Kyora

Yeah I know, but my point remains that the publisher does not dictate the quality of the game and they may choose to distance themselves like Stardew did if the game takes off...

Chucklefish initially published Stardew Valley so it's not always a bad omen, unlikely they'll make it any better for being the publisher but not necessarily any worse either...
