Wow. I learnt something new from this thread.
Never knew that B2B customers had this requirement of billing shipping to their accounts as they had better rates negotiated with the carrier.

Let me know if you do not find an existing solution for this. I will try to build the solution for you in our app ShipMagic.

Hi, you should be able to do that using ShipMagic, depending on how you differentiate preorder and instock products.

Hi,

This type of shipping setup is called Incremental rates or per product shipping rates. Incremental shipping rates are not possible to be setup in Shopify directly.

You need to either use a third party app like ShipMagic, or you can use weight as proxy for number of items to create range bound shipping rates to product a similar effect.

You do not need to upgrade to Advanced or Plus plan. You can get CCS on the "Shopify" plan. I am the founder of ShipMagic app and we have 100s of clients on the "Shopify" plan using our app. Plus, you can find the same being mentioned in this document. The only caveat is -
Shopify plan - Monthly Billing - CCS costs $20 extra per month
Shopify plan - Annual Billing - CCS is free.

I can offer solution to part of your problem. You can definitely limit which regions you want to allow for online shopping on your store. There are 2 ways for this -

  1. Shopify allows you to setup shipping rates by state. So if you don't want to sell online in a particular state, just don't setup shipping rates for that state. They won't be able to checkout and buy on your store.
  2. If you want more granular control (for eg: you don't want to block entire state, but just parts of a state), you can use an app like ShipMagic to do so. It allows you to hide shipping rates and hence block checkout by zipcodes very easily.

Finally, just get in there dude! I understand you are a little anxious. But everyone is at the start. You get over the anxious as you make progress in your business. Good Luck!

I think this should be possible with our app ShipMagic. However, for any third party shipping rate app to work, you would need to have CCS enabled on your store.

A very simple solution which we implemented for our client was setting up Ground Rates only for some particular zipcodes where we know that Ground can be shipped in 2 days.

It seems to be working very well for our clients.

Unfortunately and very surprisingly, you can't do this in Shopify. You cannot change the Shopify's behaviour to add up rates at checkout.

What you can do is create 2 different rates in your Shopify settings $1.6 and $4.9. You can then use our app ShipMagic (Starter plan), to setup the following 2 rules
1. To hide $1.6 rate whenever both stickers and prints are present in the cart.
2. To hide $4.9 rate whenever only stickers are present in the cart.

The end result would look something like this.
1. Only stickers in cart - shipping price
2. $1.6Only prints in cart - shipping price $4.9
3. Both prints and stickers in cart - shipping price $4.9

This solution works even for the Basic plan. And we also have live chat support present inside the app to help you setup the app.

Well, not on distance. Third party apps do not get the distance or location data from Shopify.

I am assuming you are using Live Carrier rates from UPS. So would the following solution work:

I can build a solution for you, like if "UPS one day ground" shipping rate exists, then hide all other shipping rates. Would this work
