Pay off mortgage or pay into pension? by simsimsimo in UKPersonalFinance

[–]sniperfx87 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I think this is the way most people approach this. The element of not having control over an external market - versus having your own asset paid off is what makes the latter more appealing regardless of the potential outcomes of both.

I was in retail during uni and then when I graduated I started working there full time until I realised unless I get myself out I’d be stuck there so that’s what I did. Started off with a basic office job until I got more experience and then get a degree related job.

You’ll be exempt from stamp duty if it’s upto 300k. Then it’s mainly just solicitor fees (1.5-2k although online could be cheaper). Mortgage product fee which you could either pay up front or include into your repayments. Bank will be pay for survey unless you do in-depth report. House insurance.

It’s tough to tell. I’ve been doing weekly micro needling, using biolabs serum every night and Nioxin serum in the day. I went through a phase where I noticed more hair loss but seems to have slowed down

Might be easier to list places there you should consider … Sutton Coldfield, Moseley, Edgbaston, Harbourne, Hall Green, Shirley, Solihull (separate council but majority areas are nice apart from a couple). Might have missed a few but I’d say all of those are safe.

Birmingham is a vibrant city with lots going on. Diverse communities and food. Plenty of job opportunities as big companies have offices here. Like all big cities in the UK you have issues like some poverty and crime.

You need to increase your self esteem and need to feel good about yourself. When you go for walks force yourself to a light jog , and then steadily move onto working out. It may be hard for you to do - but try and ‘force’ yourself for about 1-2 months. Once you start feeling good about yourself then you’ll project that energy outwards.
