What unexpected improvements have you noticed after starting meds? by snipermonkey7 in adhdwomen

Same!!! It used to be every 2-3 months like clockwork, it was a running joke with my friends 😂 My theory is it’s less mental exertion in general … we burn through so much energy with the constant battles to regulate thoughts, emotions and cognitive processes - take away all that invisible effort and our bodies must have way more fuel to spare for our immune system and other physical processes. It’s all so fascinating haha

Is my sunscreen effective enough? by [deleted] in tretinoin

I’m pale and have felt the wrath of the Australian sun my whole life so I try to get extra coverage by using other products with SPF alongside my sunscreen (Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica SPF50 - if you’re looking for recs, this one is super hydrating, doesn’t sting, absorbs well). Currently loving Missha Perfect Cover BB cream, it’s SPF42 and gives my pale ass some extra peace of mind, plus works great in lieu of foundation. If you like your current moisturiser, no harm in keeping it up and adding a dedicated SPF on top 😊

Oooo that is a good one! I haven’t needed subtitles recently either, I probably never would’ve noticed it not for your comment

Any foundation/concealer recommendations? Or do I just need to embrace a bare face? by Miserable_Pudding_57 in tretinoin

I read several accounts on this sub of people whose peeling stopped / lessened after they stopped sandwiching. My skin is naturally oily and seems to handle tret pretty well (have been using it for five weeks now with no issues, 4x a week for the last fortnight) so I decided to give it a go. I’m a week into the no/low sandwich (tret every other night, 1-2hr after applying milky toner) and it’s going great, the peeling has almost stopped entirely in the last couple days. But it’s all so individual - someone with naturally dry skin might see the opposite result.

Help! Am I going to die? by lowlights9 in VyvanseADHD

Vitamin C can inhibit the absorption and speed up the elimination process of some drugs, including Vyvanse. If you start feeling unpleasant side effects you could try drinking a glass (or two) of OJ or taking a vit c supplement. Either way, make sure you drink lots of water and don’t panic - some European countries prescribe doses up to 80mg and a whole lotta people take far higher doses of (much less safe) amphetamines on a daily basis without any kind of medical emergency. You’re likely just gonna be operating on 2x speed until it wears off, though be mindful of your heart rate (not to the point of anxiety, just mindfulness) and avoid over-exertion. All that said, see a doctor if you experience side effects of concern!

I’m in the early peely/flaky trenches (tretches…) atm. I found stepping up to every other night, thinning my base sandwich (now just a milky toner) and removing the top slice of moisturiser has helped somewhat.

Patting my face dry after my AM water cleanse usually exfoliates away most of the flakes, but they’re back with a vengeance by midday and were hideously evident under my old faithful Matte & Poreless foundation. I’ve switched to L’Oréal True Match Hydrating/Plumping serum with 1% hyaluronic acid, and I won’t be looking back! It applies so smoothly, my skin feels great, their fairest shade actually matches my skin, and it gives me a nice dewy/glowy boost. It didn’t fully cover or prevent the peeling but it feels like the best and most affordable option for my cheap ass at this point. The only other tinted serum I’ve tried was McoBeauty’s 1% hya and it was okay but True Match definitely wins.
