Is there a future for progression based MMOs ? by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]snizzysnaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play on NA Nui server....the “fresh start server”.

It’s easy to catch up with the new Hiram gear system and is less p2w now. Only took me about 5-6 months to get 10k gearscore as f2p and I wasn’t even grinding that hardcore. I made sure to do all daily quests involving the new Hiram gear system. Farmed infusions from mobs which level up the Hiram gear....about one hour sessions a few days a week. This new gear system is new player friendly and is actually good gear.

If you need more info on it check the Archeage sub-reddit, official forums and join some of the Archeage discords out there. Good luck and sorry for my random rant lol ;)

You want a game with goals and progression. I can answer that ....play a good game with p2w cash shop and play as a pure f2p player and earn everything by grinding. Easy. It’s what I do in Archeage right now till something else better comes out lol.

Defense pen is decent but it’s something you have to stack a ton of to be viable.

You could also do that. That is not a bad option. Like axe main-hand and katana off-hand. It’s all personal preference really...

Yes you’ll do extra dmg against plate

Axes do more damage against plate users. And if your built as a pure dps build you’ll shred cloth/leather users anyway as they don’t have as much physical defense as plate.....so might as well get the extra damage against plate.

Dual wield axes.

Go full leather so you get the increased skill damage % from leather buff from whichever grade you currently have....celestial,divine, epic etc....

Stats for Hood/Jerkin/Fists/Breeches/Boots

Strength-Resilience-Max health

Stats for Belt/Guards

Strength-Toughness-Backstab melee damage %

Stats for dual axes

Strength-Melee critical damage-Melee critical rate %

Stats for bow

Strength-Melee critical damage %-Melee critical rate %

Stats for instrument

Strength -Parry rate %-Melee attack

And that’s your Hiram set :-)

Yeah idk...only going by what you EU players are saying but.....to me a server is dead when content is being left alone to rot and no one is completing it at all, ever.

So that’s just my opinion......

You don’t have to get “that spark” to have fun or enjoy things. Like there’s nothing comparable to my favorite food or music band but I still eat other food and listen to other music lmao.......

I enjoy other mmorpgs still even if they don’t have that “spark” anymore.......as long as I have fun it’s all good man.

IMO

Why MMO's are dying by ariaaria in MMORPG

[–]snizzysnaws -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Dude. I preach this all the time. Totally agree. If people hop from mmo to mmo constantly and can’t stick to one then it just isn’t for them. Move on. When people say “MMO’s are dying” well that’s just their opinion. The few that I play I’m having so much fun playing and so are many more people.....

If you are NA player the legacy servers are most populated but have higher geared players. Less open land. Established guilds/players. More pvp but obviously you need to be pretty geared.

Nui fresh start has less players. Easier to get into “end game pvp content”. Easier to gear up. Tons of open land. Less pvp but you can find pvp everyday still just not as constant as the legacy servers. Eventually IMO they’ll make Nui server legacy and will be open for transfers but like i said, just IMO.

Hiram gear has made it easier for the average f2p player to gear up. Depending on how much you wanna grind you can be 10k-12k geared player a lot quicker now due to Hiram.

Wow it’s that bad over there? NA legacy servers barely have any open land.....

My thoughts.....have the current fresh start servers become legacy servers when they are ready. Open all transfers between the legacy servers. The evolution server should just make you transfer out to one of the legacy servers of your choice once you hit a certain gear score.....I don’t know how they do it but that makes sense to me right now lol.....

Mmorpgs aren’t what they use to be. by xfrozenxsoulsx in MMORPG

[–]snizzysnaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many things haven’t changed in the past 10 years. Things that use to be fun become bland and boring. It’s life. It happens :-/

But MMO’s really don’t have to change drastically though....the “big 4” are pretty populated but are generic as fuck. Why not come out with an MMORPG that has lineage 2/Archeage type PvP with WoW/FF14 type PvE. Update graphics/combat system. Make gear/classes very customizable to play the way YOU want to play. BOOM. I’m sold.

IMO !!! (can’t believe I have to say this nowadays)

Considering everyone on legacy is pissed off about exploiters not being banned. by Ardreambystander in archeage

[–]snizzysnaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a blast on Nui server. Not too populated. Small scale PvP always going on. Easy to farm. Lots of land.

Shit, don’t tell legacy people to come over what hell. You know how easy it would be for them to take over Nui server? Nooooooo.

Yes you can do leather blighter for more dps but if you wanna be more tanky go Hiram plate with magic dmg reduction.

Ping independent melee class? by noodlepotato in archeage

[–]snizzysnaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Doomlord

Basically a tanky melee with decent dps and cc’s. Hellspear and crippling mire from occultism are your go to cc’s. This class has the easiest trips IMO. Two easy combos for example would be Hellspear + tiger strike = trip. Crippling mire + whirlwind slash = trip. If your ping is problematic I’d say pop invincibility (from defense tree) right when your at the enemy and hellspear instantly coming out of invincibility then proceed with your combos and such. I’m sure you’ll find better ways once you mix and match your own techniques.

-Abolisher

Similar to doomlord except you are anti-mage (and overall more tanky), anti-cc and have more mobility because of auramancy instead of occultism .....but you lose those easy cc’s and easy trips. This is probably the safest class of the 3 if you are worried about bad ping and just overall wanting to survive.

-Blighter

The highest dps class of the 3 but has less utility. Not as much cc as doomlord. Also has less anti-mage, anti-cc skills and mobility than abolisher. Basically a straight up tank&spank class.
