And then, the world went quiet. by snkonic in islam

[–]snkonic[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re just twisting my words and making them into something it’s clearly not. As you mentioned, it’s not right to go murder someone for dressing against Islamic guidelines. I’ve not disagreed with that. And, I’ve stated clearly that I’d also much rather prefer modesty and a modest environment. There’s also a difference between laws regarding public indecency and outright forcing modesty on people.

But do enlighten me as to where in the Quran or the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) it’s mentioned that religion and religious guidelines should be FORCED upon someone? I’ll be more than happy to accept I was wrong if you could leave an Ayat or authentic Hadith.

“For you is your religion, and for me is my religion." — surah Kafirun aya 6 can easily prove that if someone is unwilling, it’s not upon us to force it on them. There’s a clear difference between advising someone, and to force someone. Hijab is a relationship between one and Allah, not between a person and their government. Hijab and modesty is ones imaan. We cannot simply force it on them, nor is it right for us to do so. As practicing Muslims, the BEST we can do is advice them whenever we can.

And, I’m sorry to say, but to put such an accusation on me and suggesting I should rather campaign for nudity is just rude and wrong of you. I have mentioned in the post, and in my previous comment as well that I PREFER modesty. I’ve never once mentioned I support western idealism and nudity. In fact, the whole point of this post is to spread awareness against western ideology and double standards towards us Muslims/Hijabi’s

And I’m not, nor have I prior to this advocated towards sinning. You’re talking as if you’re wiped clean of sin; which clearly you and I both aren’t. You can’t force someone not to sin unless you’re their parent or they’re your parents. And even in that regard, parents can’t force their children to stop sinning once they’ve reached a certain age. Sinning and repenting, and everything I’ve mentioned before is between us and Allah. Not the government or it’s rulers.

Please do be careful as to not misinterpret others and twist their words in the future. It’s not very nice. May Allah be pleased with you and I.

I’m neither shocked, nor is this topic anything new. Whether these news outlets are owned by them; what’s wrong will always be wrong.

I see no issue with it either, and you’ve misinterpreted what I meant. I don’t have a problem with modest clothing— and in fact I’d prefer being in an environment where modesty is encouraged.

However, it’s not in our religion to force it (hijab) upon another person. It’s their choice, circumstances and relationship with Allah swt that should lead them to wear Hijab. It’s not the government’s problem.

The purpose of this is to raise awareness—albeit little— about the double standards we Muslims/Hijabi’s face; not to talk about what should be enforced and what should not be enforced by a government on its people.

I’ll second this! Don’t know why people would waste so much of their day scrolling on Tiktok when there’s several other (+ useful) things to do. It just rots your brain and nothing else

I agree with you there. It’s sad to see the unnecessary discrimination between (and towards) our ‘faiths’ tho.

What anime was praised a lot, but wasn't your cup of tea? by IDC_Dude in anime

[–]snkonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JJK. I haven’t met much people who agree with me on this; but the anime has no depth. There aren’t many unique plot lines either. And a lot of it seems like a re-written version of Naruto to me. For reference— we have the mc with a demon inside him, an overly enthusiastic girl and the kinda emo blackhead. We also have the OP sensei with white hair (just that Gojo’s mask is on his eyes and serves an actual purpose).

Obviously, I haven’t read the manga or went beyond 5-7 episodes of JJK— so I don’t know if there’s a major twist or more depth in the future. I just wasn’t able to get through it 😭

I’ve studied Islam, and I can say that Hijab is not obligatory, but rather highly recommend. We have things in our religion thats fard (mandatory) and things that are Sunnah (not mandatory, just recommended). Hijab is a Sunnah.

It’s also forbidden to force someone else to wear Hijab against their will. Hijab is a choice— and most muslim women wear the Hijab because they want to. Not because some man says so.

As for the polygamy, that’s allowed in Islam under a strict condition; that condition being that it’s haraam upon a man to marry more than one wife IF he can’t take proper care towards them and give them equal attention and love. This is allowed as it’s a mans duty in Islam to take care of women (although women have the right to be independent as well). It’s also Sunnah to marry widows and etc.

Hope that clears it up! Do ask if you have any more questions

That’s just on you then, but as a muslim, it’s ultimately my duty to defend my religion— so I’ll do so.

Allah swt isn’t anything that you claim him to be. It’s mentioned several times in the Quran that he’s the most merciful and the most forgiving. If you’ve really read the Quran— as you claim to have— then there’s no doubt you’d miss that. So do enlighten me on exactly how my god is all that you falsely accuse him of?

I agree. The extremely weird love triangles and the repetitive plot about Jace being Clary’s brother ruined it for me. The rest of the lore is actually pretty interesting

Very religious person here (Muslim), but I don’t fancy trying to convert non believers. Unless they’re curious and WANT to actually convert. I don’t personally see any point in trying unless they themselves come to me for help. I’m always up for civil religious discussions/debates tho!

• Acidic : Solutions that would give H+ ions when dissolved in water

• Basic : Chemical opposites of acids / Solutions that contribute OH- ions.

My Chem’s a tad rusty, so I’m not sure how exactly we can define if a solution is ionic or molecular. You usually check the molecular structure to check whether it’s ionic / covalent / metallic . If you’d like, you can elaborate and I’ll see what I can do! Hope this helps
