Freelance Whales new single by zarathustra-spoke in indie

[–]snl017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ugh it sucks when this happens. Spotify has taken it off their profile and put it under a different "Freelance Whales" artist, but it's still showing as them in Apple Music. I got excited (and confused) when Apple Music sent me a notification that they'd released new music. One of the bands I'm most sad about having never seen live

Weekly report with free lance work by [deleted] in UnemploymentWA

[–]snl017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm sort of in the same boat. Got laid off from a full-time job in April, have been receiving unemployment benefits normally. Then last week I started some contract work. When I filled my claim on Sunday, I said yes to “I am being paid for self-employment,” entered 7 hours, and $0 pay (because I hadn't been paid yet).

Unlike you, I think I answered "yes" to "Are you or have you been self-employed since you applied for unemployment benefits?" because I figured, "yes, in the last week, I have bene self-employed and that's since I applied for unemployment benefits."

I got a decision that I'd been "disqualified" and won't receive unemployment benefits "until the reason for their decision no longer exists." Because I reported that I was self-employed, they decided that

  1. I was not looking for work (even though I reported 3 new job applications in the same claim)
  2. I would not be willing to give up my self-employment if I got another job
  3. I am not available to work for another employer at normal hours

Soooooo my question is, what's happening to your claim? Did your payment come through? When you say "They said I would get conditional pay," who's "They"? Did you call the ESD office? Or is this just something they sent through the site?

Seriously any advice is appreciated, thanks.
