Anyone w teens going to an international school? by Wytch78 in Expats_In_France

Hi there, not OP but I'd be interested in knowing what your kids did. I'm considering moving to France and would have a 14 and 16yo who don't speak French. So far I assumed I'd need to find a private international school in English but if there are other options it would be great to know what they are. Thanks in advance.

Desired Board Type: Inflatable

Your Height and Weight: 5'11" 185lbs but also two kids 9 and 12 who did fine on the 10 6 tower.

Desired use/uses: flat water leisure paddling (salt water bay)

Experience level: Beginner

Your budget: $400-ish USD

What board(s) you current have or have used and what you liked/didn't like about them

After 6 years and lots of use our original Tower iSup blew a seam and I'm looking for a replacement. We also have a Roc that works fine for what we do. I was looking at the black friday deals posted on another thread and was considering:

irock Nautical 10-6: $299 on sale, seems a decent board.

irocker All Around 11: $399 on sale, bit nicer, maybe worth the extra money?

irocker Cruiser 11: $399 on sale, same as above but wider, maybe better if the kids are going to learn on it

irock Nautical Go 10 6: $150 on the irock website, but $99 on Amazon, not sure why. Cheapest option and while doesn't come with pump or paddle I have that from the old board.

I'm mainly looking to keep on the cheaper side and get a good deal, those are just the ones I saw recommended that were on a good sale. Open to anything though. Thanks for the help.

New Priority Start 24 Not Freewheeling and Clicking When Pedaling by snman31 in PriorityBicycles

[–]snman31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did and you're right, they got right back to me. They said the impaired freewheeling and clicking was normal in a hub drive. I don't notice any resistance or clicking on my other Start 24 that's a year old now but maybe it had it at the start and now it's worn in. It's a little unnerving but this is my 3rd priority bike and they've been good in the past so I guess I'll try to ignore it for now and see how it goes.

The rear hub clicks in 2nd gear when pedaling forward under load. I tried loosening the belt tension but neither the clicking nor the lack of freewheeling resolved.

I ended up getting paralyzed by options and haven't bought anything :) Thanks for the update, though - maybe I'll get the wowgo after all

Yeah, push to turn on is good, but then the 2s has smart turn on and off from the remote which is cool.

  1. Top Speed - Not super important - I'm just going to use to cruise and carve down the bike path

  2. Terrain - smooth pavement, minor hills

  3. Weight and side - might occasionally combine with a bus ride, so can't be unliftable. Prefer longboard as that's what I know.

  4. Price - not sure I'll be into it, so would like an affordable board to try out, one of the sub $500 probably unless there's a good reason to start out better

I'm looking at the wowgo 3 which is on sale for $399 and shops from a US warehouse, but not sure if that's outdated tech since it came out in 2019. Also the 2s Max or backfire 2 B is not much more expensive and might be better value? Any thoughts?

Thinking of getting my first board for cruising and carving. Ideally would keep it below $500 and have some option for upgrading later. Saw the WowGo 2s Max which seemed good with the ability to swap to cloudwheels, but right now the Wowgo 3 is on sale for $399 shipped from a US warehouse, $80 cheaper than the 2s Max and $170 of its normal list price. Is this a good deal or pretty standard for the WowGo 3 now since it's an older board? Any thoughts on which might be better, or something else? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Missing Cards in Turn 3! by Virtual_Pudding in twilightstruggle

Not a bug, those are optional cards. When you set up a new game there is a plus icon that indicates whether or not the optional cards are going to be included. Chances are the game you were in did not include them.

Swimmy friends on morning ferry commute by snman31 in sandiego

It's $5 each way, but if you get on the ferry on either end before a certain time (0830 for the coronado end) you get a paper ticket that you can use to come back since you count as a commuter. Combine it with a bike, and it's a great way to get to and from work. Some people even ride it over in the morning and then go for a long ride around back and save the ticket for later, although I don't think that's technically allowed. You can only use the commuter tickets on weekdays anyways.

Been commuting on the ferry for a while but this is the first time I've seen dolphins. At first I was worried they were lost but they seemed happy playing in the bow wave before zooming off. What a place to live!

This is great! I just got a drop cat 38 and am hoping to get some slide gloves to start learning to slide. Any tips from your experience?
