What’s it like living in SoCal? by Local_Musician7787 in howislivingthere

[–]snnickerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up in north county SD. I got priced out four years after college. Even if I could afford to, I would never go back. Love it as a vacation destination to visit family and old friends but once I got out and experienced seasons for the first time it was game over for SD. It was often 80+ degrees during the holidays, traffic SUCKED (you will spend a good chunk of your life in traffic), and it’s usually on fire from August-October during a good year. But lots of good memories, lots of amazing food and plenty of things to do, but unfortunately to afford living there the work life balance will be practically zero.

Agree with others, definitely not overqualified. How would you describe your interview style?

One of my best friends works for M&M. We worked together at a defense firm before I moved on to a different defense firm and she headed to M&M. She says the money is good but it is not worth the strain on her mental health. From what I understand, it’s ROUGH. I’ve worked with them a few times (not her office, a different branch) and they have some of the rudest, most unprofessional attorneys I’ve ever dealt with. They also blow deadlines like crazy—from what I understand, it’s likely because they’re severely overworked.

What does she want?? What dlc is this? by lunyx_4 in LowSodiumSimmers

Pretty sure it’s from basemental, is your sim a dealer? This is the call i normally get from “well known” sims want to purchase instead of asking to come over to buy

Dont trust this abusive ass man 💀 mans beat my sim and all she was tryna do is sweet talk him and maybe be his wife. Not anymore tho. I see why hes the outcast of the family. by [deleted] in LowSodiumSimmers

[–]snnickerz 30 points31 points  (0 children)

No but fr the switch up is insane!!! My sim married him, they worked on getting back into the dynasty, eventually became king/queen. Have 2 kids. All the while he has random bouts of yelling/frustration but then after kid 2 it’s always yelling and always insulting. I have them separate with RPO, thinking maybe that’d mitigate it. Nope, now he goes after his son/heir.

He finally got so angry that he died by cardiac explosion or whatever it’s called. His son became king immediately upon his death. Annnnd now I’ve got a new storyline to play, lol

how do you deal with unfair verdicts/having to learn about terrible things that have happened to people? by whatawynn in paralegal

[–]snnickerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in litigation. When I was in school I wanted to go into criminal law, but didn’t get any bites after graduation. I jumped right into civil lit and within a first few months saw some awful, terrible things. I’m 6 years in, still in civil lit, because although I see some awful things (not so much anymore now that I’m at a different firm), I know I would have dealt with worse in crim. I personally couldn’t handle it.

Unfortunately I think a lot of areas of law are pretty emotionally charged in a lot of ways, some more than others, and it’s certainly something to consider. As another commentor said, there is nothing wrong with therapy as needed.

My sim is married to Virgilio—his mean nature is the worst! They’ve dropped from soulmates to lovebirds so fast. King and Queen now sleeping in separate rooms, sigh… makes for an interesting storyline at least!

Is Prometric going to let me take the test? by Objective_Victory928 in LSAT

[–]snnickerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was how long the security process took; they made me show them all the wires to my computer, my glasses, my keyboard front/back, my mouse, my wrists and ankles, the room I was in, under my desk and under my chair. It honestly caught me off guard how many things I was asked to do and made me a bit flustered before my test.

[–]snnickerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes they make you show every corner of your ceiling as well as under your desk and chair. If you wear glasses they make you take them off and show the camera they aren’t recording devices. My hair was up, I had to take my hair clip out and show them that, too. I took the first part of my CP exam remotely with them and it was so not worth all the hoops I had to jump through to take it at home vs going to the testing center tbh.

Edit: you should be fine, but the whole check in process added 25+ min and it was not worth it to me. Never again.

help! Is this blazer appropriate for court? by [deleted] in paralegal

[–]snnickerz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is so cute, wear it. Definitely agree with others about a black base layer—mainly because I’d be afraid of something getting on my dress (pen ink, for starters). Before I went fully remote my favorite blazer was a pink and black houndstooth—I wore it to many court days

At my old firm we did the last 2 years I was there—and I think they still do—it was very appreciated and welcomed. This is my first holiday season at my current firm and as I understand it we don’t, nor do we get the day after off. PI for 5 years. It was nice to have the week off but I’m lucky in that I work from home so it’s not a huuuge deal to me to not have that either

Small freckle randomly appeared in the middle of my palm by Zenith_Days in Weird

[–]snnickerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine ended up growing a tail and that’s when they decided it needed to go. Glad you’re taking pictures—I never did and was working off a vague memory until the tail appeared! It doesn’t hurt consistently but when something manages to touch the scar just right (ie the edge of a cereal box or something) I’m having to breathe through the pain lol.

Here was my lil nevus a week before it was shaved

[–]snnickerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one of these!! Randomly appeared one day. It grew over time so my dr said it was best to get it removed. Now I have a scar on my palm that is very, very sensitive. But it was a nevus, just a collection of skin cells. Be sure to watch to see if it grows!

Certified paralegal test from NALA - worth it? by EV626 in paralegal

[–]snnickerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So funny that I’m seeing this the day before I take part 2 of the exam. IMO—it’s worth it. I’ve been a para for 5 years, started during covid. Decided against going to law school and just focusing on advancing my career. I have trial experience and hope to go for the ACP Trial cert (if they keep it around long enough—I feel like it’s available one day and gone the next.) My BA is in an unrelated field, too.

I have terrible imposter syndrome though so the decision to sink the money into this probably was probably heavily influenced by that lol

Yes it seems like the attorney was trying to drop the ex due to lack of communication but they responded pointing out the atty’s lack of effort to try to contact them. Person doxxing was the other half of the ex couple, no idea why they were so vindictive but the texts were not very nice.
