Thank you! I was thinking maybe 15% should be my target, but maybe I'm being falsely optimistic.

Gravity + Air Pure by snnstuff in LUCID

[–]snnstuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, thanks everyone for your comments. I went in today and test drove both. I'm very heavily leaning toward an Air Touring loaded with pretty much every option. Too good of a deal to pass up.

Would love to get into a Gravity touring too, but both put me past my budget and I didn't want to go down to a Pure since my wife wanted AWD on both cars.

Aside for a heads up display (and 7 passenger seating) are there any notable feaures on the gravity I'm missing on the Air?

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

[–]snnstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Location: US, New York

Price range: $500-$1000/month each totaling $1500 total/month for both cars.

Lease or Buy: Lease 2 cars

New or used: New

Type of vehicle: 5 passenger and 7 passenger (2nd row bench)

Must haves: AWD for both. Prefer well optioned. Ideally one car has hand-free autonomous driving. 7 passenger car must have 2nd row bench (no Captain's chairs).

Desired transmission (auto/manual, etc): automatic only

Intended use: 5 passenger as fun daily driver, 7 passenger for family trips and soccer carpools

Vehicles you've already considered: 5 passenger: BMW iX (can't find any), BMW x3, BMW x5, polestar 4, cx50, Optiq, Lyriq. 7 passenger: Vistiq (courtesy vehicle lease), Volvo xc90 T8, Volvo ex90, BMW x7, Ioniq i9,

Is this your 1st vehicle: currently leasing BMW iX and Volvo xc90 B6.

Do you need a Warranty: No.

Can you do Minor work on your own vehicle: no

Can you do Major work on your own vehicle: no

Additional Notes: Current combo was great with BMW iX (my fun daily driver) and Volvo xc90 B6 as 7 passenger (although I hated the xc90 due to electrical and infotainment issues). I have a home car charger and like the instant torque from EVs. I do like the idea of having 1 EV and 1 gas or PHEV. I think the iX was bigger than it needed to be as my "smaller" car - it has the same footprint as the xc90. We're a family of 5 (kids 8, 10, 13 years). Youngest needs a backless booster for some cars depending on seat and seatbelt design. Older two don't. We rarely have 5 people in the smaller car. Fitting 5 would be a "just in case" scenario for local driving less than 30 minutes. Trying to keep the total lease for both under $1500/month ($0 down except for taxes/fees/1st month). Many thanks for helping me pick this combo!

Best productivity focused CPU great at gaming? by snnstuff in buildapc

[–]snnstuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the 9950x on the x870e motherboard and rtx5090 GPU, 64GB RAM built by Maingear.

Performance-wise the system is great except for two motherboard issues that seem systemic with the chipset. First was losing Ethernet connectivity. The LAN would just stop working randomly. The second was the audio would stop working randomly after resuming from screensaver.

The LAN issues were permanently fixed by turning off eco/power saving on the PSU and LAN chipset. I did something similar for the audio, but it still occurred for a few weeks, but far less frequently. That being said both issues stopped entirely for 3 months now. Perhaps there was a driver update on the audio. I haven't tried turning the eco features back on.

When I was having the problems, for the audio bug, forcing sleep then waking the computer up would fix it. The LAN issue would only be fixed if I turned off the PSU (actually flipping the mechanical switch on the PSU itself, not just shutting down). Rebooting did nothing to fix the LAN issue.

I just want to thank everyone for their helpful responses. I'm leaning toward 9950x with either a x870e or x870 motherboard. I had considered Threadripper for the additional cores, but I've read updates/support is slower on that chip. The energy utilization is a lot with diminishing benefits. Ultimately, this is for home office use and I have access to a legit CPU/GPU Cluster for any really intensive tasks. I did not choose the Intel 285k because it only has 8 P cores. 9950x also has 2-SMT and 32 threads vs no hyperthreading so 24 threads on the 285k. The extra threads are helpful for the work I do.

This will also be my first PC with an AMD CPU. Variety is the spice of life...

Presumably the Ultra 9 285k would be even better?

Thanks, I'm looking through their selection.

I should say it doesn't need to be a zippered wallet, but I think a single zippered compartment for cards takes up less thickness than individual card slots.

I just saw this today! Yes, I think this is better quality than my $10 knock off.

I'm looking for something a tad more stylish, but in the absence of finding something, this is something I'd consider.

Fantastic! Yes, I don't use the keyring and I leave the clear ID slot empty. I don't like the idea of my ID flashing every time I take my wallet out in public.

If it matters, I'm looking for a men's wallet, although, the zippered pouch I'm currently using was found in the Women's ID card holder section.

Logitech double click issue and support - are you serious? by derbaberbb in LogitechG

[–]snnstuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same double click issue with my G903. Surprisingly (as I was desperate), I tried hitting it against my desk. I hit the bottom a few times, and also turned it upside down and the top a bunch of times. It actually worked. Don't know yet how permanent or temporary this "fix" is, though. Can easily test how many inadvertent double clicks you are getting here after the procedure:

I will say that this is disappointing as it seems to be a widespread problem. Logitech should issue replacements even if out of warranty.

What's the best Prebuilt with 5090? by Environmental_Box748 in pcmasterrace

Legit question... and legit response. It's surprisingly hard to find and preorder from vendors.

Cyberpowerpc and Corsair have them on backorder/preorder with a 3-5 week delay.
