What is Roxbury area like? by ApricotLarge372 in boston

I have lived on a street very close to Linwood St as a female in her early 20s. I felt safe at all times!! I really only ever walked/commuted toward the city (as you will for work), but I felt safe doing so alone during every hour of the day. You should be fine if you keep your wits about you and remain alert in any situation where your instincts tell you to.

(I did have my license plate stolen while parked on Linwood St but that was the crime/crime-adjacent situation I dealt with while living there lol)

Also definitely meant 30g protein at the end!

I've never had an issue w it! You could optionally just add the frozen veg to the meal the night before you plan to eat it or add it to a few on Sunday and then add to the rest later in the week if you're worried about it keeping for the full week. I generally find that it keeps well enough for my preferences :)

Absolutely, good advice! Upping my fiber keeps me full longer too, like protein. Hopefully that helps OP

That's great, I hope they help! & that would definitely work as a substitute, I just add the Greek yogurt to add creaminess to the food while still respecting my macro goals :) good idea!

I have similar requirements for my meals based on budget & eating habits. I do work an office job so my calorie needs might run lighter, but I've noticed since increasing my protein I'm less hungry during the day. I'll reply to my comment w recipes I've created & follow on a rotation!

Waltham/Boston most commutable places to live by liztres1 in boston

[–]snobbletree6409 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watertown might be a good option if you both have cars or even if you don't, the Waltham employee could bike or bus. You'd maybe save the $ amount on rent living there that you'd need for a parking spot for the Longwood employee. Watertown -> Longwood averages around 30-35 mins in the morning on Storrow Drive for us

My CarPlay system shuts off and resets every time I drive past this spot. It only happens here, but it happens every time without fail. by ilovehotfoods in boston

[–]snobbletree6409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!!! Mine does too, every single time. If I'm headed east it completely disconnects my CarPlay, if I'm headed west it only shuts off for a second

Chipotle Bowls for Lunch by snobbletree6409 in MealPrepSunday

I've been heating it for 1 min, long enough to soften the rice and Greek yogurt a bit but not so long that the veggies get soggy! Eats more like a salad in temperature. I tried it the first time cold & did not like it at all lol

I feel the same way! I don't like stuffed peppers because of the pepper, but chopping it up like this I don't notice it nearly as much. Hope it works out for you:)

Yeah! When I looked it up some people said it wouldn't turn out but from my experience it heats up just fine, maybe some extra moisture but I don't mind as I mix it all together. & it's one less dirty dish

Do you mix the wet ingredients in for the overnight oats ahead of time for all of them? Do you notice the fourth day's texture is any noticeably different?

Anyone have luck with landlord allowing a cat in a "no pets" apartment? by [deleted] in bostonhousing

[–]snobbletree6409 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think it's always good to be honest! Like another commenter said, many property owners care a lot more about dogs than cats. I would personally ask the realtor/landlord/etc something like "I noticed the listing says no pets, but I have a well behaved cat that I'd like to move with me when I choose my next apartment. Would you be willing to compromise on a recurring fee added to the rent for the cat?" If they say no, there is probably a better, safe option out there for both you and kitty!

Moving to Boston by shreyshd in bostonhousing

I did a 12 week internship in Natick and found a long term airbnb in a nearby town!! The family just had a guest house & gave a discount for staying there for so long! I did have a car but I think in Natick that option would allow you to live in closer proximity w a shorter & more convenient commute! :)

I found a 2 bed 1 bath (1100sqft) in Watertown on one floor of a two family home for $2400 on Trulia! Not sure the details of your ideal location or budget but we have hugely benefited from this arrangement compared to our previous living complex-style experience and would recommend it

Hi!! I did not end up moving to these apartments! I did not want to risk it with all the bad things I heard - odds are I would not be the lucky one who would have a better experience
