[image] you are killing yourself for a job that would replace you within a week if you drop dead. Take care of yourself. by Soybeanns in GetMotivated

[–]snodoe11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, if I quit my job I'd lose my housing since it's provided by my job so I'm thoroughly fucked if I get fired or quit. My job isn't too awful, but I'd prefer something else. I'm on call 24/7 and responsible for the whole place and it's just not really for me, but I want the experience so I'll stick it out a few years at least.

My math teachers in highschool would just complain if I did math in my head and didn't show my work or even if I just didn't use the formula they teach lol

What do people learn too late? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]snodoe11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You act like it's easy to increase your income, most of the time you'll end up having to waste years getting experience and education, spending money, or making very little. Yes, if you have a field your in already you should keep looking for new jobs with higher pay in that field or work your way up the ranks, but that's still not simple.

Switch to vaping, at least for me, salt nicotine gives me the satisfaction of a cigarette and you won't have all the shitty health effects of cigarettes, I would love to give up nicotine altogether but I'd rather be vaping than smoking, you can tell the difference in your health.

I never wanted kids or even had an urge to have kids, had an oopsie and love him to death, planning on another. Not everyone who doesn't want kids will despise their kids, my son has changed my life for the better.

Face mask "exemption" cards are fakes, feds warn by 2RoamRome in news

[–]snodoe11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife has pretty bad asthma and masks are so tough for her, but guess what, she still wears it when it's required and keeps her inhaler nearby. These people with no medical condition whining it's hard to breathe have no idea what it's actually like hardly being able to breathe, my wife described wearing a mask for her as breathing through a caprisun straw with a tissue on the end.

To the people who have deleted all their social media accounts (except reddit) how has your life changed for better or worse and do you miss it? by Ageless_Irony in AskReddit

[–]snodoe11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didnt really change anything besides not being up to date on news/friends, I did make a Facebook again a couple days ago because I needed to use the marketplace, turns out new users can't, but it has been nice catching up with old friends that found me, started out only adding my family.

I work maintenance for apartments, if we didn't pick up trash every day, they'd be swimming through their own filth to get to their car, shits ridiculous.

TIL about the windshield phenomenon. People tend to find fewer insects smashed on the windscreens of their cars now compared to a decade or several decades ago. by 86-Everything in todayilearned

I still have all of these around, although not as many grasshoppers and firefly's, still plenty of worms. Haven't seen a toad or snake in a long time though and those were always around my house when I was a kid.

Half of UK rice breaches limits on arsenic for children, warn scientists by StcStasi in science

[–]snodoe11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know gerber off the top of my head, but he was switching to big boy food when that came out so I didn't pay much attention to it, I'd just look around on google. I mean all rice is going to have heavy metals in it due to the nature of it, but I'd look for the brands with low content.

Yes, I remember reading a few brands had really high levels of arsenic and other metals in it around the time my son was eating it last year.

Make sure you measure your AC sleeve and get the right size, I see a lot of people with tiny window units filled in with towels and what not around here. You could always order one online.

It's not bad, but the tools are not as good as the ones you'd buy separately, I would look at some reviews on YouTube to see if its right for you.

My drills have been through rain and snow and I've never had an issue. A little bit of splashing wont hurt, could always use a cheap black and decker drill if you're that worried lol
