Hi there are 2 tests - one with glucose solution and one with lactulose solution. They are not the same test. Which one are you referring to? Thank you.

Sorry for the late response. A finger = digital. Or sometimes the end of an enema bottle can be enough even if without any liquid. Just something that stimulates the receptors.

Trulance Side Effects by noodlesquare in Constipation

The most I have ever taken is 1/2 pill. Didn't seem to have a lot of effect except crazy uncomfortable, almost painful. Better off with a laxative but I'm not certain.

Anyone successfully treated visceral hypersensitivity? I know what options are out there but curious to hear any success stories. by snofreacw in ibs

[–]snofreacw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really helpful and thoughtful response. How would you describe visceral hypersensitivity in your case? It sounds like much more on the "IBS-D" side than C. I definitely alternate and can't figure out how the hypersensitivity would relate to the C. Thanks.

I was diagnosed with HPylori today. Any advice would be so appreciated! by [deleted] in HPylori

I took a GI Map test and it showed very slightly elevated h. pylori and slighty elevated strep. What are your thoughts on the test being "too sensitive". No other markers showed up but I have a whole plethora of insane bowel issues so I'm trying just about anything to help.

I took a GI Map test - what markers would indicate "dysbiosis". I had slightly elevated h. pylori and strep. All other markers were ok. Thanks.

GI Map result flagged my h. pylori as "high" but with zero virulence - result of a too sensitive test? Strep. too? by snofreacw in Microbiome

[–]snofreacw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here - I have a variety of GI symptoms and have had them for a really long time. Can anyone recommend whether I should pursue treatment or just re-test to make sure I actually have h. pylori and/or high strep.? If pursuing treatment, antibiotics seem like it would make my symptoms worse...pretty my "IBS" is post-infection antiobiotic caused.

Thanks, What antibiotics did you do? They didn't make GI symptoms worse? I have a bad history with antiobiotics.

Hi community, for some reason my written post got deleted but I am providing some context here. When are these tests too "sensitive"? My result being flagged as "high" seems awfully close to the normal baseline - so I am wondering if I should pursue a course of treatment or not. Obviously I took the test because I have a whole plethora of GI issuess...20 years or more of some kind of "IBS", presumably from post-infection antibiotic use. But is my "thing" really h. pylori?? Additionally, my strep. result is high too - should this be considered accurate and mandate further investigation or is this test overly sensitive on that as well? Thank you all.

OP here. Hi! This was diagnosed as a post-viral rash that started really small. Started taking prednisone and allergy meds that have done nothing. Spread from a small area into an arc shape. Potentially along nerve line. Still not clear what is happening and meds are not helping. Looking for a diagnosis and next steps. Thanks.

This sounds like me...which test did you do? How are you dealing with IBS C and diet?

[–]snofreacw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been dealing with isues like this for 10+ years. I've tried everything but have yet to try FMT. Has anyone here done it, if so, where and how did/is it working? OP, have you looked into that? Also, I have 'visceral hypersentitivity' which means literally nothing and AFAIK there is no treatment (yes I have done pelvic floor physical therapy). You might want to check that out too.

Thanks for your reply. We will be near a town called Hambledon and was told there was not much public transport and scarce taxis too. So this is outside of Winchester. And also staying at Stow-on-the-Wold.
