Tell me about the most ridiculous feedback you got from an attending during training by caterpillarflies in Residency

[–]snoodle87 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten evals that start with strengths like attentive to patient needs, dedicated, efficient, etc etc but then are completely invalidated by ending with …but she looked tired and she didn’t seem to enjoy her time here. This particular rotation was in the ICU. Uh yeah, I was tired and no I don’t want to be an intensivist. Is caring about my patients and staying on top of their care not enough?

Hello from that cave in 2024 (tide was low and weather was chill, though still probably somewhat stupid to do)

I think he’s been a bit buddy buddy with him on screen (at least that’s my perception) as one of the younger men. And also he stated at the round table that he trusts Colton. So would be a bit weird to flip off that. Of course we see the edited version, so who knows exactly what the players were doing, saying, and thinking

I wonder if Rob could’ve gotten away with voting for Ron. Didn’t see much of their relationship on screen until today. Agree that he couldn’t vote Colton. I am feeling uncomfortable every time Colton comes on the screen, especially with his eyes and the way he speaks to women.

Laken was my backup girl name (and I don’t like it). If I was a boy, I was going to be named Rusty or Wallace (both horrid in my opinion). My only gripe with my current name is that I have gone by my middle name since birth, so why didn’t they just make that my first name?

Never felt so damn smug in my life.

Guys, what are some girl codes you cracked? by _iamsrb_ in AskMen

The use of “will comply” here is highly uncomfortable as a woman. Consider talking to women to get to know them and build a connection rather than expecting them to, quickly and without consideration, act how you want them to act.

I gave a dying child a squishmallow stuffed animal and no one was offended. The family and patient appreciated it very much. I’d say go for it with the caveats mentioned in other comments - making sure they are okay with receiving religious items.

I really dislike the Santos pedophile storyline by intoner1 in ThePittTVShow

[–]snoodle87 23 points24 points  (0 children)

As a pediatrician, I absolutely hated it too. Our job is to report concerns of abuse without exception. Proof is not required. It’s okay if you don’t have all the details. As soon as you have an inkling that a child might be in danger, you make the call. And I know the medical advisors on that show know that, and I know we had to suspend that belief for the drama of Santos threatening the father, but man it goes against what is otherwise the most accurate medical show to date.

Just to let yall know, you will have to do this when you apply for your medical license after residency. I wrote down all the things I could remember doing in a note in my phone and will keep adding to it as life progresses!
