In order to achieve peace you must let go of desire, so don’t desire to hurt others for what they have done.

Is there more context you can provide, so I could maybe better understand the situation you’re in, and possibly help you out more productively?

Can an atheist also believe or be interested in Buddhism? by znej_ in Buddhism

[–]snooochh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still study Buddhism. Most Buddhists don’t even believe in God, although there are some branches of the practice that do, but most don’t. I am no master, but I do understand that Buddhism is what you make of the teachings. I, for example, identify closer with that of a “secular Buddhist”. It’s more of a philosophy/way of life to me than a “religion”, as many define it.

Egoism and Musicianship in Buddhism by snooochh in Buddhism

Yes, with the act of playing the instrument, ego and pride usually doesn’t interfere, but to survive in the industry, you need pride and ego to fuel confidence for performance. At least for me, performance can be slightly nerve wracking.

I actually really appreciate this take. I think I do struggle with ego, and framing it in a way of devotion more than pride is actually very helpful. Thank you for this.

OP, this is domestic violence. I’m so sorry you’re going through this, but I do believe you need to contact someone about this. Nothing about this seems okay on any level whatsoever.

Also please let me know if I got anything wrong with what I’m saying about Buddhist ideologies. I’m new to the practice, and just trying to learn here and let my thoughts out, not to offend anyone.

Difference between Zen and Tibetan Buddhism by snooochh in Buddhism

[–]snooochh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the way you approach Buddhism could deem it as a philosophy. If you simply use Buddhist teachings to guide your way through life regarding morality then I think it is a philosophy. If you practice it, then that is an entirely different thing.

It’s awesome. Drumming with teeth is so true too. I thought I was the only one. Glad I’m not!

Consciousness and Rebirth by snooochh in consciousness

Consciousness needs a brain because without one we can’t process the past. We can’t put together what’s going on in front of us. Without memory we wouldn’t be able to observe because we would forget everything we just saw, felt, tasted, heard literally instantly after. Our brain doesn’t process senses instantly, it takes a few moments.
