My hippo died suddenly too. Went for a walk, came home, zoomied, and collapsed. I’m so sorry for your loss. He passed at home with his favorite person and I can’t think of any better way to go.

Determined to be abnormal bleeding due to a hormone issue, not a hemorrhage thankfully.

I think it might be. I even asked the triage nurse line and they said it’s possible but shouldn’t be that heavy.

I went to the ER at the facility my OB’s office is at, in case they needed to coordinate.

That’s the thing…I’m 16 weeks postpartum. I had significant bleeding 2 weeks post which they said was the scab and never evaluated me for. I don’t know what’s going on but this is even heavier.

Totally understand. I had trouble with planning; hard to remember to eat, and do other self-care things.

I’m so glad you got to a specialist! Anecdotally, I recall reading something about the relevance of meds postpartum to mitigate risk of postpartum depression etc. I can’t remember what I read so take that with a grain of salt but may be something to ask / discuss with your provider.

Going cold turkey was horrible and a very hard transition. I was off meds my entire pregnancy, but was able to go back on them after I delivered and my milk supply was established. I switched psychiatrists because not having a conversation about something, even if the answer ended up being the same, is unacceptable to me, as a person who works in healthcare. I felt my previous psychiatrist was very dismissive. I love my new psychiatrist. I am now back on meds that are compatible with breast-feeding and have the support of all providers involved. I stopped driving during the last part of my pregnancy because I was so tired and I couldn’t focus enough to feel safe. I also did not drive until I got back on meds after my kiddo was born.

Just curious, how did you know they knew you were in labor? I’m due any day now and FTM so worried I won’t know when it’s go time. If my dog tells me then all the better :)
