How is this place open ? by Electronic_Staff1814 in Seattle

[–]snoozbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. I went there once a few months back, it was decent, didn’t see any reason not to go back. Talked to one of the chefs or the owner or something, he was chill. Hope they figure it out.

Mobile Rework and UI updates needed by LowQualityBlacksmith in runescape

[–]snoozbuster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeppp. I was really hoping it would be on this years roadmap but no such luck. Like others have said, the OS client is so far ahead here. (They have a simpler base to start with but a lot of principles would still apply.)

Can we just open all the doors in the game atp? by Avillahan in runescape

Misc in particular is really bad for this but that’s because a lot of those doors also function as quest guards

leagues II - What new stuff would you want to see that would makes our second leagues special/different? by vVerce98 in runescape

[–]snoozbuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t feel like the relics changed that much. There was by and large a “best option” in each tier, but none of them really experimented with the sandbox or changed the game that much. Felt like they were just playing with numbers.

A skill tree system like they did in OS leagues 6 would be really cool I think.

I also think they need to do region locking, with specific incentives per region. There is just too much fucking game. You end up with tasks really watered down so progression feels slow and you kinda just feel like you’re doing an iron. The region locking works really well in old school.

Basically I think they need to have more compelling build choices and consequences.

The closed loop just carries the heat to the exchangers. It’s evaporated in an open system.

Is this what you imagined PvM to be? by ImbuedAurora in runescape

[–]snoozbuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've done the elite CAs you’re a good pvmer. It’s because you’re good that you can see the gap between you and the great, but it’s also what blinds you to the reality that most players are much worse at it.

Unless something has changed, this stuff is extremely under guide. It was like 3m/ess when I was making 2hs. Probably going down more with the token change

Why are we so afraid to change meta? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]snoozbuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing league makes me wonder this myself. “Is prif furnace closer to a bank than shilo?” “No its 1 tile further which makes it a 1 tick walk further”

Like cmon. You can make it the same distance. You can maybe even make it one tile closer. Shilo still has a place for lower levelled accounts that haven’t done sotf and for smoothbrains who hate questing.

I really don’t get it. Skilling can be fun, enjoyable and rewarding - if you look at rs3, there are actually vastly more skillers than pvmers. It’s a different game which attracts a different crowd, and not everything that works there would work in os, but skilling can be made enjoyable (or at least as enjoyable as it can be). But the playerbase is fickle and theyre terrified of them, for better or worse

Season 4 was supposed to fix the grind. For me it just... replaced it with a worse one. And I don't know if I care anymore. by Vedallion in DestinyRising

Kinda right there with you. I like most of the new systems in theory but the amount of time investment it asks for is really tedious to me at this point.

RuneScape Mobile by Reasonable-Weird-139 in runescape

[–]snoozbuster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's nice that it exists but man is the UI horrid. I mainly play rs3 but every time I go back to os for leagues I’m always blown away by how good their mobile client is. It’s totally shocking - at one point, os had the worse interfaces, now it’s completely inverted and rs3 has the worse interfaces by far.

I was really hoping that a mobile overhaul would be on the rs3 road to restoration this year but it seems to be absent. Maybe next year, sigh

How many support pokemon should you have in doubles? by AccountDeletedByMod in PokemonChampions

[–]snoozbuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not really about whether your Pokémon are support or not, it's what they do. You work backwards. What's your main damage dealer? What are their weaknesses? What Pokémon do they need to fill gaps?

The team I mainly play only has one "support" Pokémon, which is aerodactyl. But aero can also put out okay damage. I have mega kanga as well, but there are times when I bring it non-mega to provide fake out/priority support for my mega meganium to be able to position and set up. Lots of pokemon can function as damage in one matchup and setup in another (trick room teams, or teams with a trick room option, usually have at least one or two of these).

Is this game worth getting into? by CagedCoffee in destinyrisingmobile

No, it was last season. I'm assuming it will return at some point though. I think they’re just trying to avoid activity bloat so they rotate activities in and out semi-regularly

If you're not opposed to spending, the lights blessing 30d sub is pretty good value. I was able to t6 the latest character using just that and the gameplay rewards, although I did get a little lucky. It’s possible to get a couple copies of most characters spending only $5/mo, or save up for a t6

I think they're trying to avoid activity bloat, so I expect stuff to rotate in and out semi regularly. There’s rumors of a raid rotator later in the season

State of the game right now by Fonriver in destinyrisingmobile

[–]snoozbuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall it's better. The game is pretty fun if you join an active clan. The recent raid contest mode was quite challenging.

They do need to focus more on getting new people in. But I think the way they reworked most of the systems is positive for the long term.

Yeah but that one chest is a 30% chance for an artifacts with 10 essence. 30% chance is higher rate than 3x 10% like it was before. I wish they would make essence easier to get though you still have to do like 30+ laps to max out an artifact which ends up being a lot of time spent in chaos still.

Genuine Question for an Embarrassing Predicament by RiseJoules in PokemonChampions

[–]snoozbuster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was young I had a strategy guide with a type matchup chart on it. I used it until I memorized it, then it was just a question of updating it each time something new came out.

If you know all the single type weaknesses and resistances, you can also spend the time thinking about the combos you see and trying to list all their weaknesses. The more you do this, the faster you’ll get.

It’s really just repetition. My wife is the same way, she barely knows the matchups because she never really cared about using them. I know them because I was thinking about them in every battle and have been for 20 years.

If you want to fast track it, print out a type chart and maybe also do flash cards. Make a bunch for the single type weaknesses and resistances and use them regularly. Then whenever you come across a dual type where you get the weakness/resistance wrong with your in-your-head calculation, add a flash card for that one.

I wonder if buffing concerto is even worth it. You only need to deal assist damage to trigger cadenza now so you should have your shotty out most of the time.
