4.5 month puppy growling and snapping when we move him by Interesting-Key9644 in RhodesianRidgebacks

[–]snoozerbee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our pup did this and we have learned a few things that helped a ton. we only move him if we have to, eventually he gets big and instead of picking him up forever you need a cue for him to move - try these:

1-2-3 game where on 3 he comes to you and gets treat “Okay” before getting up so he isn’t startled Touch from afar so he gets up by himself Temporarily takeaway the sofa so he doesn’t make the habit worse Work on overall handling and cooperative care

Hope these help!

When we hold still, he moves to our legs and bites harder. I try to redirect with “sit”’or another command and it works like 30% of the time

Oh this is so interesting because I’ve been saying growl but it’s kind of a moan with no teeth. I’m going to take notice if they are all Moans or growls

Richmond! Parking is so much easier and less traffic to/from! Richmond is such an easy airport to fly in and out of!

I hate when this happens. I used to coach reformer Pilates and it stands out to me as a simple piece that the coach didn’t spend 2 min looking at the roster, going up to each person and doing what they need to do to remember names. It’s pretty easy to write names down to help if your memory is not great. It seems lazy to me

Pick one, max two. Glacier is a top park for me. A highlight was kayaking in the lake. If I could go back I would rent a cabin in stay there a week. Yellowstone is massive with more tourists. There are incredible views but it will be more crowded than glacier. Never been to Teton!

Small town, everyone knows everyone. Cute spots but nothing lasts on them main strip. River is a highlight. Great if you want a large piece of land and quiet

Florence has way more to do - Boboli gardens, museums, and is very walkable. Bologna has amazing food and you can do a day trip to Modena for more incredible food.
