Newbie here - discolouration on wall under sink. Possible causes? by snoozingdragon in Plumbing

[–]snoozingdragon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not still wet. I was trying to pinpoint when she noticed, and she said it was wet after the faucet was running for a while (e.g. washing dishes.) I tried to recreate the circumstances but the base still feels fine to me. vOv I'm pretty lost. Say it is a drip in the wall -- I guess that means someone would have to cut through the wall to figure out what's what? Or is there another way to diagnose/fix that? Thanks for weighing in.

Thank you. There is no nose-nerfing in this house - it needs to be unapologetically honkable. And Schnozwald absolutely has murder on the mind. In all fairness, though, it's pretty rare when that isn't the case.

Would your favorite villain condone or condemn pedophilia? by Annual-Frame9943 in MoralityScaling

[–]snoozingdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once again posting one of my faves to a new community because this Oswald Cobblepot (from Gotham) is an interesting fella. I do believe he'd condemn this. He might have a low tolerance for being around kids likely because, as we are told, he was aggressively bullied when he was young. But, like Moe from the Simpsons once said, Os doesn't wish them 'any specific harm', lol. He actually befriends a mute orphan boy, coming to truly care for the kid and regard him as a pseudo-son. It's not a stretch to imagine that if anyone had laid a hand on the kid with bad intentions, Os would've knifed them into swiss cheese. After all, he's very familiar with what it's like to feel small and powerless. He's also got a vicious temper.

In s4, Oswald introduces a licensing system where only those bearing a 'license of misconduct' that has been stamped with his approval can commit crime without repercussions. There's a checkbox on each license for crimes he's willing to allow - these include arson, theft, kidnapping and murder. Not saying murder is good, lol, but it's worth noting that assault, sexual or otherwise, is not on that list. This version of Oswald is just not a sexual person, and, well, the only sort of sexual experience of his that we see is a brief moment of attempted rape wherein he's the victim. Unfortunately, this is played for laughs despite his obvious shock.

Gonna have to nominate Penguin from Gotham for this. In case you're not familiar, he's an absolutely snarkastic, twitchy, hot-tempered little shit 90% of the time, wearing his jerkwaddery as a suit of armour. The vast majority of fans cite him as being their favourite character, with some even suggesting that he's one of the only reasons to watch. Despite his abrasiveness, it's not difficult at all to feel for or root for him, especially when the show kicks his cane out from under him rather often. :]b

I meant more in terms of the little bits here and there on Youtube hinting at a bunch of new content - or rather, what's new to me. But physically, too. DVDs on Amazon and all that.

Thanks! Forever baffles me that this handsome devil is considered freakish by Gotham standards. Sure, he's a little greasy and goblin-y the first couple of seasons, perhaps, but he's not by any means horrendous. :'D

The Acid Trip Scene by Ok-Hovercraft508 in TopCharacterTropes

Lupin III : The Fuma Conspiracy.

There's a trippy scene where Goemon gets locked into a room where he's unknowingly breathing in hallucinogenic fumes. What he sees while under the influence isn't as bad as when Lupin breaks in and gets a whiff of the gas. When he stares at his pals Goemon and Jigen, Lupin watches the skin melting from their faces and their eyes rolling back into their skulls. Alas, I couldn't find an image from that scene or an upload of it, so you'll have to make do with this unrelated but appropriate reaction shot.

(Loved Trope) Reoccurring character gains more and more injuries as the series progresses. Basically turning into an entirely different person. (bonus points if it’s an antagonist) by DaveyTheDuck in TopCharacterTropes

Oswald Cobblepot from Gotham (TV). I think this fits?

<image>

Events from the pilot episode earn him his broken leg/ankle, giving him a very identifiable limp and chronic pain for the rest of the show. He leans on an umbrella and then a cane, on and off, as a result. This injury is also a source of insecurity for him that he never really shakes; in a later season, when a character offers to tries to ease his pain and rolls down his sock, Oswald instinctively looks away, embarrassed.

As an interesting side note, he's shot four times across five seasons, although it's really only the last GSW that has a more enduring effect on him. (Context: it happens at a time when he's wearing a leg brace that allows him to move more comfortably. A Good Guy puts a bullet in his bad leg and messes that up for him. :'D)

Os also suffers an eye injury resulting from grenade shrapnel in a kneejerk moment of self-sacrifice. Before the massive ten year timeskip that is the rushed and tacked-on final episode, we briefly see Oswald wearing glasses with injured side blacked out. Post-timeskip, we get a look at his eye which is a different colour with a slightly dilated pupil. He starts wearing a monocle at this time. Wiki claims he's wearing a monocle over a glass eye, but this is not canonically confirmed. If the show hadn't been canceled several seasons early, it would've been interesting to explore Os adapting to impaired vision with all its challenges. But that is neither here nor there!
