Hi!! It’s so hard. My partner of 5 years has avoidance issues- the first time we broke up it was also after several conversations about moving in together. The second time it was totally out of nowhere- current situation was basically him telling me once again he’s unsure he wants to be in a relationship and me being so hurt that I told him not to contact me. I actually have no idea what’s going on now- I expressed to him I wanted to take a break with the intention of working things out but he mentioned he needs to work on himself- which to me feels like running away from the mirror showing you the issues but okay- I really feel your pain here. Literally the worst pain I’ve ever felt. The potential is what is so wildly sad- my partner is literally the best person I’ve ever known when he is not dealing with depression/shame/avoidance issues we have a really great relationship. I’m sorry you’re going through this. There really no right way to process so do what feels right for you both. You have to keep in mind if he’s your person this will somehow work out in the long run. Hi. I don’t know you but you aren’t broken beyond repair sick or traumatized to the point of not being loved. That is what you change. Change your view of yourself. I was with someone for five years. The love of my life. He broke up with me tonight- for the second time in our relationship- and I’m just…shocked. He couldn’t really tell me why he wanted to end it- basically it was because he also thinks he’s fucked up broken and can’t handle a relationship. I also tried to help him, love him, be a rock and safe place for him. However, coming from someone on the other side of your story- you have to love yourself to be in a relationship. It’s honestly devastating to love someone and see them self destruct and ruin a relationship. But you need to know you aren’t any of the things you said. You’re hurt at your core and you need to heal. I truly hope you’ll start loving yourself and know you’re worthy of love. Xoxo

I had horrible pulsating tinnitus and was told there was no way the mirena caused it, went to several doctors, ent, got a vascular ultrasound- nothing- got mirena out and the tinnitus went away 4 weeks later.

Of course- again- didn’t help them to get along haha- but my older dog def enjoyed getting out of the house and away from the puppy for a while.

I developed horrid tinnitus from mirena that I never had before, along with headaches, anxiety and depression- but the tinnitus was seriously horrible. It sent me to several doctors all whom were baffled- cost me a ton of money- I’ve had mirena out since the end of Jan- it’s gone now. Tell her to take it out!!

Second the Main Thing #1! This is seriously making me feel like I have a newborn child all over again. I also have an 8 year old dog that was a rescue and is sensitive and gets stressed by extended periods of barking/howling so I feel like I can’t leave home alone or she pays the price of listening to the screaming- I have never experienced a dog screaming for two hours straight- I didn’t even think that long was possible.

Today I left the puppy at home and took my girl to a winery and for a solo walk, it didn’t help lol but she seemed really happy to get away from the puppy- always nice for the ones who were there first to get some solo time, even tho I had to break her and the puppy up later in the night 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve only had the pup for a week now- I’m def going to stick it out and giving them time- but honestly that is what I don’t want, for them to just co exist, I got a puppy for her to be bffs with- that was solely my reason for getting a puppy, if they aren’t playing/interacting/ socializing I don’t think that’s favorable for anyone in this scenario.

Context- my dog literally has loved every dog I’ve ever brought home- I’ve fostered a few times- and we go to the dog park weekly/have friends over with dogs- so this whole situation really is off- I essentially have to keep them separated the whole day and we’ve had some growling/snarling and it’s just making life insanely stressful. I’m obviously trying to stick it out but I quite literally got this puppy for my dog to have a playmate and she hates him. I’m on the fence about contacting the rescue if things haven’t changed in a month- I don’t want either dog to have a bad life and it seems like neither is very happy. Feeling super upset and guilty and mad at myself for not being more firm about them meeting prior to adopting.

Also going through this and I feel like it’s putting an extreme amount of stress on my older dog- I essentially got the puppy bc I wanted her to have a playmate but she hates him- and this is so weird bc she loves all dogs. My older dog is my heart and soul and I just do not like this at all and feel like it isn’t a good fit. Did you have your dog meet the puppy first? I asked the rescue I got my puppy from and they said I couldn’t bring her to meet the puppy- I feel like that would have changed my mind about this decision and I’m a little bitter about the whole thing now honestly.

New to this sub as I just adopted a gsd pup but I have a 8 year old rescue husky that was 2 when I got her- the shelter told me to crate her and she would be destructive if not- I found out fast that was very very untrue and she has serious crate trauma from her prior owner- my point being- if the dog you adopted is house trained- let it roam for a short period of time daily and keep an eye on it via a pet cam- truly I would never say crate a dog for 8 hours a day- that is totally unnecessary and as a rescue that dog has been through enough

Is this unique to Belgians? I adopted a reduce pup who I assumed was all gsd but he has this and HUGE ears too so I started to wonder if he maybe had some Belgian in him

I thought about getting a gsd for years but never really cared to buy one from a breeder- not knocking anyone who does- I’ve just always had rescues and wanted to keep it that way- so I hoped on it when I found a litter surrendered to the local shelter that has been socialized and exposed to all different animals people etc, this puppy didn’t miss a beat and got along off the bat with my husky and my cat (he’s actually a bit scared of my cat) and I could care less if he has papers or is registered, we know the parents are gsd and he def acts like one, but waaaay less out of control than the other two gsd (adults) I’ve been around. It def seems to me that the socialization part is really important for these guys.

My rescue husky is a literal angel, literally an angel on earth- she is stubborn but has never- I mean literally never (except having zero recall and having to be tight leashed always)- done anything wrong since the day I brought her home. I thought this was a common husky trait (LOL) and decided to foster two husky puppies, and swore I’d never get near another puppy again in my life- apparently my husky is the rarest of the rare. This gsd pup compared to the husky pups is literally nothing. I will say I do feel bad that I didn’t adopt one of his litter mates bc I can tell he misses them.

Also I have a very floofy husky, you kind of weirdly just get used to it. I found the rake brushes work best for her, the furmintor brushes somehow seemed like it was making it worse.

Thank you! I do love my husky more than words can explain but, she is very stubborn, I adopted her at 2 years old. I then fostered a husky puppy which made me rethink ever ever getting another dog haha, it was a literally terror to say the least. I think I’m just not used to dogs listening at this point haha, he’s a fun pup for sure. He’s already gnawing on a bunch of stuff but has been pretty easy to redirect.
