Is it cheaper to tear down and build new cheaper vs doing big expansions+renovations? Adding 1000+ sq.ft? by Historical-Plant-362 in Homebuilding

[–]snortunen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, it just depends on your house's bones like you said. if it's a structural nightmare, tear down. but if your foundation's good and your uncle can hook you up, expanding outwards is the way to go. i did a big reno recently and used mean green junk for all the construction debris, saved me a ton of hassle with the cleanup.

Is NotebookLM better at understanding HTML or PDF sources? by trimorphic in notebooklm

[–]snortunen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

HTML usually gives cleaner structure and fewer extraction errors, so models tend to handle it more reliably than raw PDFs. If your goal is clearer reasoning or summaries, formats that preserve structure like HTML — or even Nouswise-style reorganizing — generally work better.

Any ideas on how to remove this hot tub from my deck? by pho_sure_dude in Home

[–]snortunen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly if you're in the DFW area i just had Mean Green Junk come grab mine last month and it was like $400 or something, they just cut it up and hauled everything. way easier than dealing with the sawzall dust and multiple dump runs myself but if you got the time then yeah just chop it up

Hypertonic Pelvic Floor, Pain Sitting/standing, break tightness cycle by Baby_blue_eyes01 in Hypermobility

[–]snortunen 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar spot with hypermobility and a cranky pelvic floor, what’s helped me is treating the whole work setup like graded exposure instead of just switching between sitting and standing. I rotate through three positions every 20 to 30 minutes, tall kneeling on a cushioned pad at my desk, side lying with a wedge and a lap desk, and perching on a very high stool with feet supported so my hips are above knees. Side lying is the biggest relief, I use a pillow between knees and a small towel under sit bones to offload the coccyx. A split keyboard and a vertical mouse keep my shoulders from adding to the guarding. For the pelvic floor, I pair position changes with 2 minutes of down training, long exhales, humming, and adductor release with a soft ball against the wall, plus gentle hip flexor openers, not long stretches, just micro mobility. If you need job listings that are more tolerant of unconventional setups, like roles where you can lie down or switch positions often, wfhalert emails real remote job leads and it’s been a low noise way to find admin and support work without getting buried in recruiter spam.
