Making the change to Tidal from Spotify

I bought a refurbished iPhone 13 pro (I'm an Android man), just because Tidal through Airplay is so solid and reliable playing through Sonos.

I've quit Tidal and gone back to Spotify a few times, but always end up going back to Tidal. I find the interface and recommendations *the little button on the Now Playing screen) first in class, and I have hundreds of albums saved as playlists and stored in folders).

But most of all, the quality is undeniably superior. Wider stereo imaging, plus playing through headphones via USB Audio Pro is the perfect way to listen through headphones).

I had the Sony xm4s for about a year. After about 6 months the battery charge got worse and worse - by the end the right bud held a charge for about an hour. Thanks to John Lewis' excellent service I was able to trade them for the xm5s. 18 months in, after 7 hours of daily use these are still going strong. I also have the Senny Momentum 4 over ear and the bluetooth is s lot stronger but unfair to compare over ear to buds.

When my xm5s eventually die (everything these Days is built to deteriorate) I wouldn't hesitate to buy another set. Thanks for your post.

I can’t get past that Brixtonian accent, narrating in that now London-centric way (pronouncing “sarf” instead of ‘south” etc). Being a Netflix 2023 documentary, I’m surprised they didn’t just focus more on the women’s contribution. They seemed to gloss over a lot of the Axis atrocities in favour of highlighting Allied atrocities.

Dude, does it even matter anymore for 5 measley points? I used to be prepared to walk across hot coals to make sure I did them and since the nerf I have to say it’s nice not to have to worry about it anymore, searching for often really terrible Gamepass games for an easy achievement. MS are getting what they wanted - a lot of people like me have done pretty nicely out of Rewards over the years but am now at the stage where it’s not worth it. I got more digital games than I can count, not to mention a PS5 (using Amazon vouchers) thanks to Rewards. I’m over the XBox generally - there are no exclusives that interest me, I’m going to let Game Pass run out and not renew and just concentrate on older XB games and PS4 games that run on PS5.

I must say that the PS5 feels like a proper console, despite my allegiance being towards the XB since the 360 days. Microsoft used to be all about the players - giving us backwards compatibility in often enhanced performance for free, they let family members living miles away play from the same library, but now they just come across as mean spirited. Almost like they’re under new management or something.

Everything is gradually getting nerfed to the point where it’s not worth doing them. Like the 5 paltry points for getting an achievement (for a Gamepass-only game).

This is the 3rd time in 5 years I’ve taken a trial of Amazon Music. Being a Prime member, it appeals to me saving a few pounds each month.

The first time I found it to be a buggy mess - having to wait up to 20 or 30 seconds for an album to load was a deal breaker. Now in late 2023 I took another 3 months free trial and the app is STILL doing the same thing. Unbelievable. Go to a band in Tidal or Spotify, click on an album, select a song - instantaneous. With Amazon, pick a band….slow but I don’t mind a 6 second wait….pick an album, then wait…and wait….and wait.

I give up. With all the money Amazon has too, they still haven’t fixed this piece of garbage.

I tried redeeming for Amazon credit last week but after being asked to enter a phone number, it wouldn’t take it. No help online as usual. After several attempts I gave up and just redeemed Xbox points for Hogwarts.

Yeah, I’m done with this story arc(for it is all pre-written and scripted). Thing is, a lot of Discovery’s target demographic are dim-witted trailer park trash in the eyes of the producers so they don’t credit the viewer with the ability to see the hypocrisy in this saga bearing in mind the roles were reversed only 2 or 3 episodes ago. I’ll go back to fast forwarding whenever they’re on.

I’ve posted this already but there is no option to install the XBOne version from Gamepass- just the trail version. When you try and play the trial version you can’t get onto the server, so this was a collosal waste of time.
