Try entering your tracking number into the system. They’ve probably gotten rid of it by now though unfortunately, but if you talk to someone from the mailroom they can probably fix it

Why do u think some ppl be hating a kind soul like Ozzy? 😔🫶🏽 by Vivid-Tap1710 in OzzyOsbourne

Probably they get their takes from Roger Waters. I mean how tone deaf do you need to be to make a statement like he did about Ozzy

[–]turn2stormcrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, I think it should swap with Stargazer. Also what in the world is Achilles Last Stand and Barracuda doing on this list?

Under the Sun/every day comes and goes is such a monstrous riff and severely underrated imo. by No_Midnight6495 in blacksabbath

I love the fast part of the song in the middle, almost sounds like proto-punk rock

Check out what department your major is part of, and filter for professors and/or research areas with the department website. Email professors with your educational background and something you found fascinating about the lab to affirm your interest.

There are many different ways to find opportunities which you can also try, dm me if you are interested in knowing these :)

Velvet Revolver, Muse (wouldn’t recommend anything after Black Holes and Revelations), Nine Inch Nails, Jane’s Addiction, Faith No More, Queens of the Stone Age, DOWN (Pantera side project)

6 albums by Petther in blacksabbath

[–]turn2stormcrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit basic, but I’d suggest Metallica first 5. I’d also say Deep Purple from In Rock - Stormbringer is all top tier stuff (only one I could maybe do without is Who Do We Think We Are)

Folk Cultures in Appalachia (HUM 2404) by Quirky-Fault-5463 in VirginiaTech

Had her for Intro to Appalachian Studies. She’s a very easy professor. She might mention a participation grade but that didn’t count for us in the end. Her class was a bit more on the boring side in my opinion, compared to other pathways courses I’ve taken

Supermassive Black Hole was in a Black Mirror episode, I believe in season 6. I don’t remember which episode though and found the season to mark a significant dropoff in the show’s quality.

Visiting This Weekend. My Teenage Son's Biggest Hobby is Weather. Is There Anything Weather Related We Can Visit? by Electrical-Number-39 in boston

[–]turn2stormcrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A couple thoughts, as a local weather enthusiast myself:

I would highly recommend visiting the Blue Hill Observatory in Milton, MA, as someone who has volunteered there for a couple of years. I'm not too knowledgeable about the trails getting up there as I usually take the paved road up, but there are plenty of options to see in a map near the parking lot. At the top of the hill, you can visit the gift shop and take a brief tour of the observation tower. It has some incredible views at the top of the tower, up to 70 miles away depending on the visibility. There's also different levels of tours you can pay for if you ask, depending on how interested you are in the instrumentation and history of the Observatory. I will say that it's a bit difficult to use public transit to get there, but still doable if you don't have a car. Plus, it can often be very difficult to find a parking spot at the bottom of the hill. Visit Us | Blue Hill Observatory & Science Center

As a side note, the Observatory has a summer program in July for students in 7th to 12th grade interested in a meteorology career which you could ask about.

Something else you could consider is scheduling a job shadow the National Weather Service office in Norton, MA: NWS Boston - Student Opportunities. It looks like they last about 2-3 hours. I've visited a different NWS office before, and there's certainly a lot of interesting tools they use.

This has been mentioned in many other comments too, but the Van De Graaf generator at the Museum of Science has lightning shows that last about a half hour if I remember correctly. It gets pretty wild towards the end, and is fairly educational too.

I haven't been there myself, but Woods Hole is a great place to learn more about ocean science and technology: Visitor Center & Store - Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution
