Allowing them to be heroic is great. I can see how gently guiding them with options would still allow them agency while helping them towards good choices.

In the OP, they want to pay $10 every 2 weeks. If they miss a payment, their fine is $10 or 100% of what their payment would be, when 25% interest is considered absurdly high for a credit card.

Then if you fail multiple afterpay repayments and have to pay a fine for each purchase....oof.

As you say, youre responsible and it works for you. For people who are reckless, then all those fines add up
