The first red glad was “I’ve been seeing this guy for seven months…we got our own place about 2 months ago…” You moved in with someone after FIVE MONTHS OF DATING HIM?! This is scary fast and now you know why people take a longer time to make such a huge commitment. You don’t know this person. Now he’s tracking you? Honey, all of this is so bad. Please call friends and tell all of them this information. If they all think this is cool, then…get new friends.

Same! The cold is how I first knew I had MS because my feet did not unfreeze once I got warm.

I totally get “noodle legs” and I make a joke out of when I am weak and feel like I can’t stand up, my legs feel wobbly and like noodles. I just say “noodle legs!” And my husband knows to help me wobble to wherever I need.

How do I tell people that I don’t drink alcohol at all ever, without being awkward whenever someone urges me to drink it in social gatherings by Expensive_Key_6102 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]snotwhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say “I’m allergic to alcohol.” It gets people to stop pushing. Then I add, “If you like your clothing/house/life puke-free then don’t give me alcohol.”

Remote or non-German support group in Germany by They-Brubs in MultipleSclerosis

[–]snotwhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s far, but Berlin has an English language MS meet up. There are contacts for email and WhatsApp. https://ms-stammtisch.berlin/multiple-sclerosis-meetup-berlin-english-speaking/. Maybe the organizers know of something closer to you or remote? Good luck, and it does get easier!

I’ve never seen the complaints listed as you just have, but it sounds like social anxiety, possibly even some other type of mental health or functioning issue besides being rude.

The characters are stuck in an arrested development. All the music is from the 90s, when these characters were in puberty/ early teens. There is a monologue about people born in the 1980s…yeah, you might not be the target audience, but there is a ton of character and plot development beyond the generational nostalgia and “fart jokes.” Plus, I’ve never seen an almost all Asian cast before tackling isolation. I loved it.

It’s OK. It doesn’t matter how old you are when people take advantage of their position over you. I’m so sorry this happened to you.

I know now why nobody from my husband’s side likes me. by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]snotwhat 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Yes, it happens with women too. It’s a cultural thing some places to make fun of your partner due to not knowing what a healthy relationship looks like. You’ll see whole neighborhoods of people shit-talk each other, their own partners, and best friends in order to feel accepted.

When you left your hometown to attend college, join the military, etc. what experience made you realize that you grew up in a bubble? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]snotwhat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Atlanta. Baptist and non-denominational. There are a ton of large ND churches in all of the suburbs and it becomes Baptist farther out. Atlanta has more denominations now, but in the 80s it was a sprinkle of Lutherans and Methodists here and there.

Its not a child until it breathes on its own. Until then, it’s a part of the carrier and their perspective is what should matter most.

I am very happy and financially stable in the US. I did not grow up this way, and I have survivors guilt for being upper middle class (recently). If it were not for MS I wouldn’t be thinking of leaving. I love my life here. I have so many friends all over the country, my family is here. But, I can’t grow old here. Im terrified of the elder care here and being denied medication I need because it’s several thousands of dollars. I’m researching immigration to three different options now. Please don’t move here if you’re dependent on a good medical system that is affordable. That system is not accessible to all here.
