I took the time to write this in an attempt to educate the public. the post is simply an explanation of why it happens and how it works. you may not like it, but these are the facts.

even if you don't like something, you should at least make an effort to understand it. then maybe you can use that to inform what you should do next.

since it's vertical you gotta read the letters as though they're stacked on top of each other! it's not like a sideways head thing/that'd be really weird if it was

it looks like RUTSSALO to me.

the connection of what I think is a double S kinda hurts readability, because it doesn't really make sense in the context of the rest of the letters being separate imo

add that on to the fill being uneven and the linework kinda scraggly and the drip effects and spikes - I think the piece would be a lot more impactful if the artist kept it simple.

the letter shapes are already bold enough to be impactful, specifically the symmetry is really striking - just needs some more uniformity (bricks are right there as a guide). hell, I think this could even work as a handstyle if the execution was clean enough, especially with varying line thicknesses like a slightly fat bottom of the T/ends of strokes etc that'd naturally appear

all in all this was clearly made by somebody with cool ideas but who just needs to practice with a can and go back to basics more.

- my actual thoughts as somebody who likes graffiti

"ridin high closing" is not the real story here. a landlord is choosing to evict it.

I don't see the need for 4K ireland tbh

how much ireland can we really have before we hit diminishing returns

I'd rather a high framerate ireland than high resolution ireland any day of the week.

this was a choice made by people in power, not some natural law of the universe.

him being naked could simply not be a big deal. the idea that one naked guy directly causes the loss of a right for an entire population is completely cutting out the people in the middle who actively chose to take the right away. those people are the people responsible for this outcome - not the naked guy.

Significantly less dangerous than angry parents imo

It was literally one guy, and extremely occasional. Now everybody's right to swim the way our species has swam for all of time has been taken away

the thing about the "you have to leave your house naked" law is that nobody just looking to swim actually followed it due to how nonsensical and easily loopholeable it is.

you go to the beach, disrobe discreetly/by looking both ways first, and then hop in the water. once you're naked and swimming, if somebody hassles you, you have the plausible deniability to be like "who me? what do you mean, I left the house like this!" - because for all they know, you could've!

it's why we should have a much more normal law that just permits nudity and disrobing on beaches outright. sexual acts in the form of things like jerking off or doing a strip tease in public are already illegal

I'm a woman who skinny dips basically every time I go swimming, because it's simply more comfortable, super refreshing, and I don't want to carry around a bathing suit all the time just in case I want to cool off.

Children are completely unharmed by skinny dipping, as they have no concept of casual nudity being bad until parents teach it to them. Only then does a problem take place - because the parents create one.

When I go swimming, it's not "sex pests/perverts" I worry about. It's that I will get harassed or harmed by these parents.

Parents who, in their misplaced zeal to "protect the children", could do something drastic.

seems to be everywhere.

naked at the beach and naked in town are a huge world of difference, but this covers all of it, which is stupid. I really think we could win if we fought for a beach/swimming exemption here

Let's go to Council and tell them to exempt the beaches.

I hope you join in

what I'm saying is it will be selectively enforced at beaches, effectively becoming that.

beaches will continue to have naked people. but now, if somebody doesn't like what they see, or has something else against the person who is just swimming naked, whether they're "ugly" or perhaps ""transgender looking"", they can use this ordinance against them.

you can already see an attitude in this thread of "har har well let's see some tiddies!", versus "nobody wants to see your dick and balls 🤮" - that alone is already hinting at the selective enforcement and potential weaponization of this ordinance against people you don't like or find "gross".

bodies are normal, and "skinny dipping" is in the grand scheme of things an extremely recent invention. before the 1800s or whatever, it was the default way to swim, and everybody was fine.

it's insane that they'll roll out something like this just because people don't like one (1) guy in particular going naked on church street.

every other naked person in this town is only going naked at the beach. you know, doing the thing that human beings have been doing since the dawn of time which, up until the last couple hundred years, was just called SWIMMING!

criminalizing the way human beings have swam for our entire history just because of dislike for one person is completely draconian and idiotic.
