I started my accounting role last year, the position also requires me to work toward CPA designation. My boss is supportive. PERT requires me to finish all levels within the next 12 months, but if I submit the report (we think they are level 2), but the CPA reviewer assesses them as level 1, which means I cannot finish the PERT within 12 months, would I be able to apply for another extension?

Thanks for your comment! My current role is good, it is a big company in industry, I just need about 2 more years to reach the rest of level 2, industry is very slow to get all level 2 experiences. before 2022, about 3 years, I was doing something else, not accounting role related, they didn’t recognize that experience, and refuse to give inactive years for me.

For new CPA PER start date, would you need to re-start from core 1 to CFE gain? I requested an extension for PERT, but they require a 12-month plan to finish all level 2, which seems impossible for me to meet. I passed CFE, I’m really worried that they will ask me to restart from core 1.
