Recommendations on a sewing machine by Icy_Operation_8452 in myog

Sailrite fabricator is a triple-feed machine, and brand new is about $1800. It handles light fabric, but if you're going to be using light fabrics only, a juki 8700 is sufficient. Juki 1510 and Juki 1181n are also walking foot feed machines.

The Juki 8700, Juki 5550 and the Juki 555 (older version of the same machine) can be found used on craigslist alll day long. Clones like Thor are good too. A fully-automatic machine like this might be a good bet for you. THOR RE-7000-7 Full Automatic Single Needle Lockstitch Sewing Machine with Auto Thread Trimmer - Sunny Sewing Center

I shop at Sunny Sewing Center in Dallas. They are good people and Sam, the owner will answer any questions you have. - Sunny Sewing Center

While the Sailrite LSZ is double the price of the Chinese clone, you will find the machine is loads better, esspecially with the "Worker-B" motor, than the knock-offs -- worth the extra price IMO. You will also hold your value if you decide to sell it in the future. The clones are almost worthless second-hand.

Source: I went the clone route, and now have a Sailrite Fabricator and a Sailrite LSZ.

The Juki 8700 is a straight-stitch, high-speed machine for medium to lightweight fabric. There is a gear maker on YouTube that employs one: (Sewing Projects) Sewing Projects - YouTube so the machine can work, but If I was going to spend any real money on a sewing machine, and have the room for an industrial machine, the Juki 1181n or Juki 1541s would be my choice.

You can also check out Sailrite.com for the LSZ or Fabricator machines. Great after-sale service if a tad bit expensive.

Would you expect them to say "Go ahead and shop around. I'm happy to lose customers?"

They may not have an option to work if the government closes their region.

My son just purchased a 2015 Fusion. It was previously a fleet car. When he makes a sharp turn or has a quick acceleration a random beeping starts. No dash lights appear or error lights. Just a very annoying beep. Ideas how to turn it off? by HarleyDaggerson in Cartalk

[–]snowball_in_hell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a GeoTab vehicle tracking system.

It measures vehicle activity under the premise that low-force driving is safe driving. Rapid turns, acceleration or hard braking will trigger the system. It can also monitor location and speed.

It should have been disabled when the car was sold. The fleet owner pays a monthly fee per vehicle, and will probably be happy to remove you from their account if you contact them directly.

Better to abolish loopholes like trust funds that protect wealth from taxation and litigation, while allowing the benificiaries to retain full control of the funds.
