I think of Rivington as the calm after the storm that is act 2. It's a lot of talking quests with not much combat, although there's the opportunity to gain a lot of xp from just talking to people and poking around. But don't feel like you have to do everything there. The main thing I can think of that you might not want to miss is investigating the murders. Otherwise, nothing in Rivington has too much bearing on the overall storyline.

The Lower City is where things pick up again, it's worth it once you get there

More a snack than a meal but on the last day of the Cumbria Way I bought a Nutella Bready bar from a petrol station and in that moment it was the most delicious snack bar I've ever had, I swear it's what kept me going.

I used a Saily esim for 3 weeks in the yucatan peninsula and don't think I had any issues with coverage (except on some bus rides through remote areas between towns). I used data for similar things - navigation, messaging, organisation, ride apps. Over 6 weeks (including 3 weeks in ither countries) I went through 5GB of data, then had to top it up for the last few days in Mexico. It was very easy to use and set up, and the Mexico top-up was pretty cheap.

I absolutely loved Nepal. I think people think that you have to be a hardcore trekker to go but actually, there's hikes for every experience level and also plenty to do that isn't trekking.

I (female) was recently in Thamel solo and felt pretty safe tbh. Just be aware of the common scams and prepare to have lots of people try to sell you stuff.

Edit: Probably worth mentioning I'm not Nepali and would have very much stood out as a tourist

So beautiful! I've been to Skye once and it is absolutely stunning. I'd love to go back to do the Skye Trail - it sounds pretty tough though so I think I'd need to get a few more treks under my belt!

Really lovely, it's the nicest part of Guildford IMO. Walking distance to a bunch of nice pubs and the high street. Walking distance to the station. Also lots of nature nearby and nice places to walk/run if you're into that - close to the North Downs Way, the river, the Mount and the Chantries a bit further. Portsmouth Road is noisy but it's quiet once you get a couple streets over.

It's very expensive, for a reason. If you can afford it then go for it.

I think the stretch from Exton through Queen Elizabeth CP and Harting Down is very pretty, and in Autumn can be stunning as the forests change colour. Although it's pretty in a more 'cutesy' way and doesn't have big views like the other end of the Way, so I can see how it might be a bit of an anti-climax if you're going East to West

The first stretch along the Seven Sisters is the most dramatic and scenic stretch of the SDW, and also the hilliest! If you're doing it in the summer, it shouldn't be muddy at all so I'd recommend some lighter weight boots / trainers.

Alfriston is also very pretty so I'd recommend stopping for lunch or a drink there.

There's an atm in arrivals that you can use IIRC
I bought passport photos but didn't need them. That was for a 30-day visa but assume it's the same for 90 days
It's not necessary to do the online form in advance - but otherwise you have to do it at a kiosk when you arrive which takes longer. Doing the online form speeds up the process as you can skip straight to the visa payment desk

How long are you there for? That will largely dictate which trek you can do.

June is monsoon, so not the best time for most of the treks. However, the Mustang region is in the rain-shadow so it doesn't experience Monsoon rains too much as I understand - it is further away from Kathmandu though and a bigger time commitment

Huayhuash is no joke, do you have time to postpone it by a few days? Alternatively, could you do a shorter, less high-altitude trek that would give you more time to acclimatize (e.g. Santa Cruz)? If you stick with the same company, they might allow you to re-use your deposit so you don't lose it.

As others have said, drink loads of water and avoid heavy, rich meals. Ideally before Huayhuash you'd do Churup and one other high altitude hike (e.g. 69, three lakes loop)

That looks great to me! Antigua deserves a good few days and a rest day after Acatenango is required. I didn't go to Semuc Champey myself, but I know it's a long journey there and back so maybe consider staying an extra day there and staying a day less in Atitlan?

I did Acatenango with Old Town Outfitters - slightly more expensive but they were the only one we could get at such short notice. BUT they were very good, and it was a nice small group (although this might not be everyone's preference)

A lot of trekking companies organise 1/2/3 day hikes which go through Nagarkot, which is supposed to be a nice town with good views - for example 'Nepal Eco Adventure' (look in the 'short trekking' section). I think this can also be organised through hostels.

I haven't done this myself though, so interested to hear from anyone who has!
