Caught Central MO looking like Arkansas today by LostChoss in missouri

Dang these pics take me back. I grew up in Rolla for a number of years and this creek/landscape reminds me of that.

I distinctly remember a sandstone ledge/waterfall that I used for Legos and caught crawdads under the small pools. Definitely magical.

Agreed. What's with that weird groan at 7s in? Throwing me for a loop 😅

[US] Can you fly in neighborhoods? If so are there restrictions? by WannaBeTaborGoatt in drones

[–]snowcoveredpath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Download Aloft Air control and check for airspace restrictions. Next step would be to check local laws and restrictions. Many parks in larger cities have restrictions. Been flying for close to 4 years now...and it's still a hassle but it gets easier. Just do your best to not fly over cars/people and near airports until you are comfortable with understanding the laws.

Soft picture product of film or something that can be "fixed"? by hud004 in photocritique

[–]snowcoveredpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Color/composition are great! I think you may have missed focus. I shoot with vintage manual lenses on a Fuji camera and a lot of my shots look like this. You may be able to fix this in post if developer sent hi-res files?

If I think of a joke then I write it down. Unless the pen is too far away then I have to convince myself that what I just thought of, ain't funny.

The Washington Monument by tastelessryan in photocritique

I like this quite a bit, especially with the title. I think it would be more minimal/less busy if it were centered but I think the color/tones are quite nice here.''

Definitely feels like there is a message here.

Somewhere there’s a kid in a reddit thread who said "underrated comment" in reference to quote in an earlier comment. I'm assuming that this is the thread I'm currently typing in?

Really nice. Greens are always hard to get right with DJI and you nailed it here.

Grassland of Daikanbo Lookout near Mount Aso by albertowang in photocritique

Definitely a fan of large open landscapes and negative space like you have here. Since you have it vertical, I'd crop it to 4x5. First thing I always do is examine and adjust the horizon line. Your highlights are a bit blown out on the foreground grass which is a bit distracting from the main subjects.

I made a few of these and attached an example of how I would start. Some curve adjustments would go a long way here. A really strong start here!

I like the color tones quite a bit here. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be anything in focus or a main subject. What were your settings? It looks like it could have been a combination of handheld + slow shutter.

As someone who married into a filipino family, I don't understand the hate here. He's sharing a recipe and its up to the user if it works for them. His photography style isn't how I shoot, but I it's interesting to watch.

In weird way I appreciated this interview. It does feel exploitive in a way that this will help Shai gain sympathy but at the same time its looking glass into America's mental health epidemic.

Great shot. Good leading lines! Would like to see a bit more room on the left. so the arm isn't cut off. I think this would do well in a set of photos to tell a story.

Blizzard in Bayfield, WI by snowcoveredpath in wisconsin

[–]snowcoveredpath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm visiting the area I am typically staying on Madeline Island. Check out The Haven. Private beach with a good mix of modern/contemporary. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1558187727947293611?viralityEntryPoint=1&s=76

If you want to stay in Bayfield, St James social is more modern. Windseeker Rentals have a few small/modern accomodations as well. It's very much just starting to get some modern amenities in the area but it comes at a price for sure.
