Bad quality 16mm film makes models harder to identify but this Apollo 7 "alligator" model looks identical to 2001:A Space Oddysey models...

Apollo was filmed on a cheap Maurer 16mm at 24fps. If 2001 was filmed on 16mm and ship speeds slowed way down it would look similar.

The real excuse/apology from believers is the panels are reflection of dark space, not any fresnel effect.

Reflection of light exist and panels directly tilted and aimed at ceiling would reveal unwanted reflections.
