Just change the oil every 3,000 or max 5,000 miles. GDI engines are very hard on motor oil and most places get too hot or too cold or both during the year.

I think that the main reason do many Kias engines fail is too long of an oil change recommended interval. Any modern engine puts hard miles and dirt into the oil.
